Watched half of this last night. Can't argue Sony are terrible at making movies and Feige is a bit of a hack. Ghostbusters wasn't what I expected and I'm still flabbergasted they decided to do this as a reboot, then completely seal the deal by casting the original actors as totally different characters... why Feig WHY!?
Having said that... I enjoyed the movie. My girlfriend who really loves the original and thought she was going to hate this, absolutely loves it. I dunno, for all its faults it's not bad and has some kick ass moments. If it hadn't had that ridiculous Kevin character it could've been even better.
Sure I'd have loved a better script, far less forgettable ad-libbing and something more visually in line with the old films, but it's not terrible (like so many love to claim it is). It's a far more enjoyable watch than many modern comedy and action films for me personally, and the hate definitely was riled up because it's Ghsotbusters.. and because it's women Ghostbusters.
Edit: Just remembered he makes at least two explicit references to Melissa McCarthy being fat and says "fatso". I do like his comedic review style but didn't see the sarcasm or wit in the way he mentioned that (twice in the first half of the video that I've seen). Was it a joke? Seemed just like he was being a dick for no good reason in the way it came across. Totally unnecessary and harsh.
