yea... I really enjoyed the familiars too.

I have something like 75 sunk into it including post game exploring and I'm a little nervous about the 2nd one.

hopefully the cutscenes are just as good too

I don't think there is another developer who makes such beautiful looking games with consistently bland music and mediocre gameplay like level 5.

E.g Nino Kuni, Professor Layton, Rogue Galaxy, Dark Cloud 2. Even Dragon quest 8 and 9 were amongst the best looking Dragon quest titles but worst ones in terms of gameplay.

Early September is Destiny 2, so I'm not sure that helps. It's a busy year for games so I don't think there's really a great time to release it.
