They don't have the RDR excuse of messy code because its already being made of current gen consoles which share a very similar architecture to PC.

Doubt it, PC Gaming makes a lot of money right now its more profitable than last gen and problems with piracy are still high but as long as there is Steam and other key distributors the game will do really well.

The only thing stopping the PC release would be moneyhatting from console manufacturers and pressure from the publisher 2K believing in piracy or low sales or some other BS.

Mods can be a PR nightmare.

No, it is not. One of the reasons Red Dead Redemption wasn't ported was that the code was a mess, and the fact that a lot of people who worked on were laid off and/or fired. For GTA V, there is no excuse.

They will make a killing off of the PS4 and Xbox One versions. Most people, I know, who waited for it to be on PC have the patience to wait for it to drop to $10 on a Steam sale. They will likely now wait for the equivalent $30 sale on PS4. There's more money to be made on the console versions, and one less port to be had. PC versions of GTA have been bad since GTA 3.
