Love this guy. Have no plans to buy this any time soon, but I almost want to for HIM. haha
Even if its genuine, and I believe it is from what ive seen of Sean, my response to it and many of the hyperbole from some fans is:
"Calm down its just a videogame"
A very good one hopefully, but yeah, the "oh my god this experience will change your life" vibe rubs me the wrong way
That's exactly what it is, damage control. Guy knows the game is over hyped and is pre-emptively trying to lower expectations to mitigate bad reviews and backlash.
But don't take my word for it. Keep an eye on user reviews for the next month or so.
calm down
"You can please some of the people all of the time, you can please all of the people some of the time, but you cant please all of the people all of the time."
-John Lydgate
Never before, has there ever been a more appropriate quote for a game.
If you 100% his previous games, Joe Danger / Joe Danger 2, you're given a secret email address to contact him. If you do you get a very heartfelt, individualized reply and a little booklet that tells the history of the ups and downs of the studio and the games' development.
Feels inappropriate and completely calculated to get a reaction like this. Hope the game cane speak for itself because the "gee wiz guys I really hope you like it" thing is sort of played out at this point.
he's open to his fans and the community. He is a humble kind soul and this is far from pathetic and creepy.do we need the public love letter guilt tripping potential buyers into enjoying it? It comes off as a tad pathetic? Even slightly creepy?
The amount of negativity & cynicism in here is ridiculous, WOW.
It's sweet that he feels this passionately about his game, but really, do we need the public love letter guilt tripping potential buyers into enjoying it? It comes off as a tad pathetic? Even slightly creepy?
Pretty much.
And how is this even an indie game at this point. It's got major publishers backing it. All that marketing wasn't from this guy's piggy bank.

The amount of joy people take in shitting on and being cynical assholes about a project someone is actually passionate about never ceases to amaze me.
You know what I love? Creators who love creating and genuinely put themselves into the art and games they create, and thankfully there are more of them than people who think it's cool to crap on others for having emotions about something they work their ass off on for 5 years.

Fuck you GAF. I fell for the hype and preordered it on PSN.
Nice letter.
Glad I don't have the cynicism some of you do. What a shitty way to consume entertainment.
Exactly. Remember when these "press kits" were actually what the consumer got when buying a boxed game?Pretty great message. Fuck press kits though.
Lmao! How many GBs we talking here? Might download it when I get home. Need something different to play and get lost in.
What is this? Who is it for?
