And? I don't see why Bethesda is to blame like you say they are. They announced a feature they were hopeful to get happen, and had every reason to believe it could happen since MS allowed it. It's on Sony.It didn't work out in the end.
It's not a defense. Just wondering.I love these defenses lol.

Uhhh.Just out of curiosity how many mods are on Xbox One and how widely spread they are?
Sony privacy calculated it's not worth the risk seeing how Bethesda isn't exactly known for its technical prowess.
Did Adam Boyes take all the good decisions with him when he left?
This'd be a perfect time to announce the NX, but Nintendo gunna Nintendo.
Getting pretty sick of this shit. Keep it up Sony and everyone will be jumping ship right back to MS. Probably no reason not to when Scorpio releases. Keep making that bed.
Isn't it rumored that KH3 is cancelled on Xbox?
What are you talking about?
They are probably afraid of stuff that may open up home brew.
But why wouldn't they? Aren't the mods curated by Bethesda? So it's not like there'll be any mods that crash the game or whatever
I'm curious why Bethesda was running around marketing the mods in the first place if they didn't have all their cards in place. That was huge oversight on their part.
Like telling people you're having a huge party with catering without actually having a confirmation from the caterer yet.

FYI, these were the reasons brought up a few months ago when they said mods would be delayed:

"KNOWN ISSUES WITH PS4 MODS
PC textures are used. Memory and performance issues may occur. We are working with Sony on optimal texture exporting support in a future update.
Sound files are currently not supported. PS4 sound format is a proprietary format. We are working with Sony on sound file processing support in a future update.
PS4 Mod Storage limit is approximately 900 MB at present. Please do not upload mods larger than 900 MB. We are working with Sony to increase this limit."
Reposting for those that might be curious as to why.
Well, Skyrim runs on entry level gamign laptops now a days, even with some mods, so I'd suggest if you're interested to go ahead and pick it up for chepa on PC before the remastering hits (It's a free udpate on PC I believe).
There were always goign to be mods that wouldn't have worked on consoles anyway, so you'll be getting the entire ecosystem.
Sucks that Sony wasn't willing to play ball though.

I doubt Bethesda is going to do anything.Didn't they market the game saying it'd have mod support? What compensation are we getting?
Man you are a true champion of SonyWhile I want the details on this and think it's a dumb move. GAF needs to get out of its bubble.
Anyone who truly cares about mods has these games on PC. Mods for F4 were a timed exclusive for XB1 and F4 sold more on PS4.
A lot of the things GAF seems as big controversies the general public doesn't even know or give a shit about.
People still see the ps4 as a great value and way to play amazing games. Same as XB1
What I don't get is why anyone who already owns Skyrim would now buy the Legendary edition on PS4.
60 dollars for a slight graphical update? Lol. The only reason I was even slightly interested in it was for the mods and now that's gone.

disappointing. Sony's juast bringing out all the goods this week. They must really be misreading this huge market lead they have....
Dev shaming? Bethesda is able to do mods, they're doing it on the other platforms without issue. This is on Sony.As this thread continues, can someone actually explain how this is solely Sony's fault? Bethesda announced a feature when they didn't know if they'd actually be able to do it or not. They continued to publicly work on that feature while they had months of discussions, knowing there was a possibility they would not be able to release it. It's definitely partially on Sony for not allowing it (for whichever potentially good or potentially questionable reasons they ended up with), but considering Bethesda promised something while privately knowing there was a chance it wasn't going to happen, I'd be pretty annoyed with them if I bought the game thinking that mods would happen, not Sony.
I don't actually care about this at all (I don't own the game and due to other releases won't be changing that anytime soon), but I'm baffled by the response here.

yesIs this a joke post?
