I wonder if he's working out of the PlayStation HQ in SF or at Sony Pictures in LA. I'd assume LA, but that PS HQ is so nice.
Is this real? Do we have Steam numbers? If so, holy shit. That's higher than Steam does for an entire year, and that's PSN only. Wow.
Steamspy $3.5B for2016Is this real? Do we have Steam numbers? If so, holy shit.
Wait, 5.3B can't be all digital.
It isn't. 5.3B also includes hardware and peripherals. Network only is about 1.8B.

Lol.I am a great CEO
No, hardware and peripherals are a different category.
Steamspy $3.5B for2016
But I doubt the dota and csgo microtransanction count or not
Sony is better of selling their other dead weight divisions. Their movie division has been a disaster for years now.

The G&NS segment includes the Hardware, Network, and Other categories. Hardware includes home and portable game consoles; Network includes network services relating to game, video and music content provided by Sony Interactive Entertainment; Other includes packaged software and peripheral devices.
$5.8 billion is trailing 12 months.
I think it'll be up but not by a lot. Software will drive demand along(exclusive and 3rd party) with a price cut to $199 for the holidays.Very good numbers, think it will be up again this year or will sales start to decline?
I wish they would ship more PS4 Pros to Europe. :|
No way should they sell film or music. Should be a last resort to save the corporation type deal.

listening briefing now, they said that PS4 Pro is doing better than they anticipated
Looks like Kingsglaive was their top selling home entertainment title for the quarter. I'm not sure what that means for sales, but I assume that's a good sign for them and Square.
Very good numbers, think it will be up again this year or will sales start to decline?
And the console industry.PS4 carrying the entire company
I remember that, "losing momentum", "less desirable" etc etc.Hope these number can finally silence the "PRO is failure" "Slim is ugly" "PSVR is fad" and "No UHD player!" short-sighted posters.
Shit~ you just made me remember. Something along the lines of 'the narrative has been flipped' or maybe it was momentum?I remember that, "losing momentum", "less desirable" etc etc.

There's a lot of competition but with VR and co-marketing deals with Red Dead, Destiny and possibly Battlefront again they are going to be front and center with a lot of massive franchises. No way PS4 can keep growing with heavy competitions this year.
I think 2016 is the plateau.

They will have marketing deals with some of the heavy hitters this year so they should do fine. What heavy competition are you talking about ? Switch ? lol
scorpio...
Crazy that 10 years ago this day Sony's FY results for their gaming division could be read as: "We're so fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuucked"
Cannot see the pic but I remember
There are a "packaged games" section which is retail, not PSN, and it is tax from retail title and first party games retail

"Are Sony backpedaling on the Pro?"
So, skimming through the thread, people/Zhuge have said the following:
Record Playstation shipments for a quarter.
PS4 still outpacing PS2.
PSN revenue higher than Nintendo's entire revenue.
PSN revenue from last 12 months higher than steam ($5.8B vs $3.5B)
All correct? Crazy if true. What a turn around.
Delayed, bad reputation previous entry hurt sales, bad reputation previous entry hurt sales.
House is not that clean.
