That's not true. My real name appears on the bottom screen (My Mii name) but my system nickname is the same as my NNID.
That's...weird. It definitely displays my system name in my demo. My Mii's name is Tye, and my system name is Tyeforce (same as my NNID), and it definitely says "Tyeforce" at the bottom of my screen.

None of the Pokemon in Smash have an even gender ratio lol.

Jigglypuff is the only one that has a higher chance of being female, as well.

EDIT: Ivysaur doesn't have a gender difference. Only Venusaur does.

Wow Greninja. I wonder how he guessed the range for shadow sneak in the 2nd gif

I don't know about over air, but on land you can see the shadow below you to tell you. You can definitely learn to time it though. Like link's arrows. I can time the charge to aim the arc.

Gender ratio means nothing. Just because one pokemon have a higher chance of being male or female means absolutely nothing. Only 100% goes into account here unless their are cosmetic changes like pikachu's tail.

Anyone think there's any possibility that we could get a Battlefield version of each stage sometime in a large update? It really wouldn't take too much effort on their part. Take the FD/Omega form, slap a few platforms of the same style onto it wherever you like, and set the stage selection X button to scroll through Normal>Omega>Battlefield.

I can always dream...

I'm not sure of the challenges, but that would make sense. Also, out of curiosity, who have you enjoyed playing so far?

In terms of newbies, Villager, Wii Fit Trainer Pac-Man, Little Mac, and Robin. I like Mega Man, but those ones really clicked with me the first time I used them. Rosalina, Palutena, Shulk, and Greninja felt alright, but I'm still getting used to how to use them. Miis feel pretty good to me, but I haven't experimented much with them. Dr. Mario, Lucina, and Black Pit feel about what you'd expect.

As for veterans, Bowser, Peach, Yoshi, Ganondorf, and Wario feel really good. Haven't really experimented with any one else, yet. ZSS feels brand new to me. Too busy trying to unlock everything and test the new ones haha.

Yayyy! We should play together. :3 And yeah, completing the first page will unlock the second. Chances are you will have a number of panels automatically completed once you unlock the second page.

Cool, thank you! And yes we should! (I'm pretty terrible at playing against real people in Smash, though)

I guess experience helps in guessing the timing for air shadow sneak then.

The Link one is actually pretty bad ass.
As an avid pajamas wearer, I can relate. Maybe I should make this my life motto.
The fact that the Hero of the Winds (AKA Wind Waker Link AKA Toon Link) could go off on an adventure in his pajamas just shows that he is the best Link.
I really, really feel sad that Sakurai didn't upgrade Flying Man to a playable character. I mean how awesome would he be? SO awesome
I doubt that's going to happen unless we get another installment in the Mother series, which Itoi said he wasn't going to do.
Flying Man on Magicant is the dumbest design decision in any Smash game. How the hell anyone thought making a stage hazard that is literally a team mate is beyond me. It ruins what is otherwise one of the best stages in the game, to the point that I absolutely hate playing on it and groan anytime Ness comes up in classic mode. I'm almost happy Lucas is cut, just so I don't have a higher chance of playing on this fucking stage.
What exactly does Flying Man do? I haven't seen much of the Magicant stage.

I agreed well except for the clones, they can go die on planet Pluto and be forgotten.
*Dwarf planet.

Sorry Lucina but one bad apple spoiled this roster and unfortunately Dark Pit is that apple.
This is how I feel actually. I was fine with Lucina being in the game because every Smash game had clones, but then when we had two other clones that were also just as clone-y as her, it got annoying.

If Lucina gets another role in a Fire Emblem game, I would be glad to see her come back in the next Smash game - but she should get some changes. Same goes for Dark Pit.

A stage hazard toggle would be infinitely easier to implement (depending on the stage, obviously)

I'm okay with Dark Pit because A) Easy to implement B) His theme is godlike

Of course I'd rather have Lucas + Wolf as clones, but they were sadly probably low priority and/or Sakurai didn't want to use resources to give them new animations like they did with every veteran.

Don't you dair change my Lucina. :mad:

I wish All-Star mode was like this:

Mario, Luigi, Peach, Bowser, Bowser Jr, Rosalina, Dr. Mario = 3D Land, Mushroomy Kingdom, Rainbow Road, Paper Mario or Golden Plains
Wario = WarioWare Inc.
Yoshi = Yoshi's Island
Mr. Game and Watch = Flat Zone 2
Donkey Kong, Diddy Kong = Jungle Japes
Link, Zelda, Sheik, Ganondorf = Gerudo Valley
Toon Link = Spirit Train
Samus, Zero Suit Samus = Brinstar
Fox, Falco = Corneria
Pit, Palutena, Dark Pit = Reset Bomb Forest
Marth, Ike, Robin, Lucina = Arena Ferox
Meta Knight, Kirby, King Dedede = Kirby Dreamland
Little Mac = Boxing Ring
Wii Fit Trainer = Pictochat 2
Duck Hunt Dog = Living Room
ROB = Balloon Fight
Villager = Tortimer Island
Greninja, Lucario, Charizard, Pikachu, Jigglypuff = Prism Tower or N's Castle
Ness = Magicant
Captain Falcon = F-Zero NES stage
Sonic = Green Hill Zone
Mega Man = Wily's Castle
Shulk = Guar Plain
Pacman = Pac Maze
Olimar = Distant Planet

That would be 25 battles, very time consuming but so hype!

I'm working on my stage legality suggestions for Batty's tournament.

I think this is a good set.

NEUTRALS
Battlefield
Final Destinations
Yoshi's Island

COUNTERPICKS
Arena Ferox
Brinstar
F-Zero
Prism Tower

There's also a few stages that are in the questionable area between Banned and Counterpick.

I noticed that Wario is a LOT more expressive in this game.

Just some close-up examples...

He looks so good in this game. Can't wait to main him again!
Dude looks way more expressive then he was in Brawl where it seemed like his face was partially frozen. Looked really nice in footage too, was missing that weird jittery, G&W-style movement he had in the last game as well.

Masked Man

I said wow
Okay first.....I'm not attracted to women so she's not a "waifu" for me :p

Gayming Age represent! :D

Looking at the composers list, sad to see Shogo Sakai not composing anything at all.

I know. :( His music is still there (both compositions and arrangements), but I was really hoping to hear some new tracks. When I asked him about Smash a while back, he told me he wasn't working on it this time. At first I thought he was pulling my leg, but I was really sad to discover he really wasn't writing any music for the game.

If Dark Pit turns out to be the reason they don't include Magnus's Theme from KI:U I'll be very sad.

Speaking of Dark Pit's theme, why the hell did Dark Pit get a unique victory theme, but Doctor Mario didn't? Rosalina got the Galaxy theme, so why couldn't Doc get a part of the actual Doctor Mario theme?

Interesting. I'm loving how varied people's character choices seem to be.

I'm more peeved by the fact that Pit has his Brawl victory theme still instead of the Opening Theme of Uprising and Palutena sharing it with Pit.

I really hate the relevancy argument. Relevancy works only to the degree that it makes it more likely that Sakurai will notice that you exist, or notice your value. People will talk about retro exceptions, but why are they exceptions? Dixie Kong hadn't had a major role since DKC3, and yet she was almost in Brawl? Mewtwo and Roy were almost included in Brawl despite not being relevant to their series anymore? We've had characters from series that were released almost a decade and a half before they became playable in Smash!

Sakurai doesn't make Smash to advertise. Sure, he HAS included characters that serve to advertise, but at no point does it define who he picks. If Sakurai truly felt that relevancy was significant, we wouldn't have a new Mute City stage or a new Magicant stage. Instead, the 3DS version would have had a new Metroid stage and a new DK stage.

I don't know that I'd call them nerfs as much as his character has basically been entirely overhauled as far as speed/strength goes.

I'd say the removal of chain grabs and short hop lasers along with the new start up on down air are definite nerfs. However, as a Falco main, I feel the former two are suitable nerfs, especially that cheap chain grab. The down air change is probably due to the new ground bounce making it too good prior to the change.

Though the overhaul to a lot of his moves gets me soooo hyped. I cannot wait to get my hands on him.

Oh no! He's been so integral to the series soundtrack...at least we have a whole new flood of talent (mostly Namco dudes) covering for him.

Do you know if he was responsible for any of the Mother songs in Melee, btw?

Well Bowser and his son (and unrelated henchmen) get the electrified Mario victory theme, and Rosalina gets the Galaxy theme, so why not put some kind of Doctor Mario theme in there?
