The USB 2.0 never reaches 480 mbps throughput in real scenarios. The speeds are not close. This is a fact.
In real world situations the difference between an eSATA and USB 2.0 are closde to 2.5 to 3 times in favor of the eSATA.
I had the oportunity to test this myself.
I don't even know how we could be arguing about this issue and offering advantages (at cheap cost) to the user. Bizarro universe indeed.
