Well the whole "fear zeus" fight was sort of added within the last month or so of development, with this mini game added along with it. We scrapped the original boss fight for something more fun.

I don't mean to turn this into an AMA or anything, but can I ask how long the Poseidon fight took? It's been almost 5 years and I haven't seen anything remotely as spectacular since.
It took about a year to do all the different scenarios for that Poseidon boss fight. They were all animated by the awesome Michael Biancalana. He works for Blizzard now.

Well, they all pressed circle to debate how to animate it, but kept pressing it until their thumbs got tired. So they all decided the best thing to do was to go sit in their cars, look at the dashboard, then come back into the building and keep pressing circle to debate for another twenty minutes.
