So which team is this? UC2 or UC3?
Seems rather unlikely, as the teaser seems to be about Henry Avery, who was born 60 years after Sir Francis died.Playing as Sir Francis with a story centered around Atlanitis would be pretty cool.
This is going to be rated M. Elena will be killed by the narrator close to the beginning of the game. Drake plunges into anger and depression as he seeks revenge and speaks in brooding, narrative monologues throughout the game.
Uncharted: Maximum Pain: The Fall of Drake
#truthfacts
What about project leads? There is no "UC2" or "UC3" or "TLOU" team.
I thought this was clear/know by now.
They swap their members all the time. Especially after one game/project is done.

Well, Madagascar is clearly visible.
Next-gen Uncharted jungles....hnnnnnng
Wasnt it heavily hinted that they got engaged between U2 and 3 but split up because Drake was a dick who just wanted to steal treasure all day?
Then they completely dropped this plot point mid way through 3 in favour of just doing the Uncharted 2 ending again.
They have a happily ever after in all the games more or less then at the start it's back to "it's complicated" just so they can do the same dynamic between the two of them again
Drake seemed to have a better relationship with Chloe a lot of the time in 2
Have we played the same games? Nathan Drake is a sexual deviant. He's constantly quipping about the female character's butts or making some other sexual remark. And then there's the borderline sex scene in Uncharted 2. This is the only aspect of Nate I am not terribly fond of.
Having said that, in response to the teaser, yes! I loves me Uncharted. It has easily become one of my favorite game series. Sure, it's not perfect, but it's got a great heart to it, is a ton of fun, the characters are all amazing, and the graphics are always gorgeous.
I'm guessing you didn't play Uncharted 3?
It doesn't occur during the games, it's some time between Uncharted 2 and 3.Played it a couple of times actually. When they get married? Seriously, fill me in... must have missed it.
As for the full sequel, they never acknowledged they were making one.
What about project leads?
I'll get excited for this once its confirmed that its not a sequel. I haven't played the other games and would like to jump into the series without having any prior knowledge of the story; here's hoping its a reboot or even a prequel of sorts
Except in this case, there appears to be continuity between the lead for UC3 and the new UC (Justin Richmond). And my major issues with UC3 were almost all "high-level" design issues.Someone who is a project lead isn't necessarily going to keep being one. Even so, the person who is a lead doesn't mean that much - exactly who the team is comprised of as a whole will have a greater effect than who is leading it.
If Justin Richmond was suddenly leading all the team members that worked on TLoU, what does that make them? How do you 'rank' that? The answer is, you can't. And it won't even be that clear-cut. The people who're working on Uncharted 4 are going to be a mix of the UC3 and TLoU teams, depending on who is best suited for what tasks need to get done.
So noone wanted to read the link I posted? :'(
Here are a few interesting quotes:
Pirate theme is real?
Highly, highly doubt anything on this game will be at the VGAs.To me it sounds like the past is gonna catch up to Nathan, he can't live by his lies much longer....
So pumped! Go go VGA's!

You didn't notice the ring on Elena's hand and how many times they were talking about it in cutscenes lol? Heck the ending cutscene was all about it
So now Uncharted is shit and Yoshida-san sucks at his job? Am i reading this right??
Hmmm... seems vaguely familiar now that I think about it. I remember a ring. I don't really play Uncharted for the story to be honest...
Please don't make a silly release date that you have to commit to again, like 11/1/11 and have your game suffer for it.

Similarly, there was continuity between the leads for UC2 and The Last of Us (Bruce Straley and Neil Druckman), and both games were brilliant at the "high-level" (but each suffered minimally from smaller design issues).
Those results all sound to me like the direct outcome of their respective directing/creative leads. Am I wrong?
I play Uncharted for the story/characters myself. I feel like the gameplay is incredibly basic/safe, so that's not the main draw to the series for me.
After UC1: Relationship; didn't work outDon't think they were ever together really. Think it's more 'it's complicated'.

Significant role?
The main character is gonna be a Drake's and Elena's son.
You heard it here first folks!

Well different strokes for different folks I guess. I love the characters and the way they interact. But in terms of the whole treasure-hunting yarn, I found it quite strained in the third game. It was easy to get caught up in it in the second game because it was such a wild ride. In the third I just loved the gunplay so much; that was the main focus for me.
To be honest, I'm not sure having Drake trotting around the globe looking for some old treasure from some book is really going to cut it. They will need to change this. Maybe someone is coming for Drake and he's The Hunted who must unravel the mystery of his pursuer and escape his clutch to avoid certain death. Maybe it could be like Resident Evil: Nemesis...
But isn't it implied in Uncharted 3that there is no connection between Nathan and Francis Drake, and that Drake made the whole thing up as a kid?
You watched the cutscenes?
I didn't know it as well. But ... I skipped them. heh
I'm actually thinking the real descendant of sir francis drake, nathan's childhood friends before he even met Sully. Basically the guy who start Nathan's obsession with Sir Francis Drake, even claiming Drake's name.Nope.
He'll be somebody who used to work with Drake, who he double crossed and left to die. Basically, the game's villain.

Neither. Development teams don't stay static.
UC3 members, once that was completed, would have moved over to help finish TLoU while others stayed to work on UC3's multiplayer DLC and patches. Members of TLoU's team would have moved on to help pre-production of Uncharted 4, while others would've stayed to work on TLoU's single player DLC and multiplayer.
You move team members around to work on what needs to get done. You don't keep people who all work under one roof on the same team arbitrarily, it's inefficient and there's no point.
