Using UbiArt Framework yet no Wii U? That's pretty disappointing..... :(

Looks good too...

Bah

Great premise about time they try to cover some of the first world war famous for its trenches, hopefully the story is very mature. I am glad that they are putting the rayman engine into new types of games.

The trailer makes me sad. Great concept for a game. Especially great new perspective on WW1. The UbiArt Framework is such an incredible piece of tech. I hope UbiSoft gives access to the engine to non-intern Ubi studios.

Just what in the hell is Ubisoft trying to prove? I mean....tonight learning of Child of Light and now this? Not to mention their other incredible titles....its sensory overload. (and from the looks of the 2 mentioned, emotional overload as well lol).

I'm really intrigued by this. WWI is my favorite part of history to read about and it bums me out that there aren't many good games about it. Hopefully this game will inspire other developers in new ways to approach WWI in gaming(it doesn't always have to be a flight sim or strategy game).

Didn't Ubisoft talked about licensing Ubi-Art?

I guess for Ubisoft to promote Ubi-Art, they have to show the way first. Prove it to developers, especially indies, that these kind of games has a future.

Not a fan of the super burly look of the soldiers, but everything else sounds interesting. I hope the game does the grim scenario justice

Not sure if its been mentioned yet, but this game was first revealed in the Ubiart presentation video back from E3 2010

Guys, would be possible to let Ubi know that we are interested also in Vita and Wii U versions? Maybe via Twitter?

No Russians?

They saw some of the absolute worst of WWI, to the point where the strain destroyed the country. For a game that's about people's lives in war, that's a pretty heavy omission.

I wonder why this isn't hitting the U but Child of Light is.

I truly like the idea of a 2D puzzle adventure game based on WW1. Haven't seen many of those around yet so it got my interest. I'd love to see some real gameplay to have a better idea of how the game will be, both gameplay and visually. At this point, i'm not too sure about the cartoon visuals. Seems to be a big contrast with the theme of the game.

Looking forward to more about this game and great to see Ubisoft investing into this type of projects. Got to love them for that.

For a long time I've been wondering, why we have many FPS-type war games, but not any games that actually delve deeper into the subject of war.

I've personally have wanted to see a game like this for a long time and it looks like it has finally happened. Game looks very interesting!

ADVENTURE GAMES ARE BACK, BITCHES!

Seeing a major company like Ubi invest in an adventure like this is a very positive sign for me.

It's great to see a company loosen their own chains a bit and explore topics and genres outside their cash cow franchises. Really liking the art style and I'm a sucker for puzzle games.

Given the engine, we're one compile away from having it on every platform Rayman Legend was on.

that's the main reason...I don't want to spam the port begging here and there, but it really would be a perfect fit (and not so expensive to be ported, considering the engine and the dd only nature of the game) for vita and wiiu.

Drawing inspiration from European/French comic classics, that's where Ubi being the only European megapublisher shows its advantages.

Intriguing.

I definitely like the looks of this one. The trailer is also very good at portraying a serious picture of the war, while still conveying a certain sense of humor -- just like a good European comic. That's something we don't see all too often in the video game landscape, where wars are still by and large depicted as the one-sided weapon porn fantasies of teenage boys.

Well one thing to be considered re:vita port, is the vita ports of Origins and Legends were not done inhouse

That was a really moving and fantastic trailer. Game seriously looks really awesome.

I just hope it's more adventure than puzzle, personally.

BBC's next documentary "World at War" which detailed WW2 is even better.

YES.

World at War is the most amazing piece of work on World War 2 I've ever found. I never expected to see it cited here at GAF.

I'd like to thank the annual purchasers of Assassin's Creed for funding this project!

Remember this before you write off the (sometimes unfortunate) realities of making sequel after sequel of high-performing titles. For a while, Assassin's Creed and Just Dance alone were keeping Ubisoft going strong.

I was able to get my hands on the framework while working at Ubi. I'm not sure if they're planning on allowing third-party devs access for Ubi-published games, but the process of requesting and receiving it couldn't have been easier for me.

Interesting recommendations. Dan Carlin/Hardcore History also did an amazing WW1 podcast series, Ghosts of the Ostfront. Hmm...I have a feeling I'll be doing a lot of preparation for this game. :p
