To be fair for me, I got the game cheap from a gaffer but I also always go in on the physical versions of Witcher games. It's tradition. I'll have 2 copies.

I'm holding off on buying this. I'll be building a new PC (god willing) in the next 6 months and I'll pay whatever the price is then. Hell, I might even buy it again later this year just to give them more monies.

It runs really well. Both on my AMD laptop and NVIDIA rig.
Are you one of those people who turn on Ubersampling without reading what it does?

I know exactly what ubersampling does. I understand that it's bumping up the internal rendering resolution to very high levels to reduce/eliminate aliasing. But my GTX 980 / i7 4790k combo should be able to run this game @ a locked 60FPS w/ubersampling on. It doesn't. I can play Ryse, Assassin's Creed Unity, Crysis 3, Far Cry 4, etc.. etc.. maxed out at a locked 60FPS, but this I can't. A quick Google search revealed that this is the reality of the game, regardless of set up. Sure, I can run @1080P w/ubersampling off at a locked 60, but for a game that's going on 4 years old, I would've expecting to be able to play @ 4K to be frank. I can play much prettier games at higher resolutions.

Which games that look as good as Witcher 2 run in 4K maxed out at 60fps without drops on your setup? I am curious.

Personally I played Witcher 2 maxed on release in 1080p on meager 560Ti that cost some 250 bucks back then, so I would say it is pretty damn well optimized.

Off the top of my head? Skyrim, Dead Space 1-3, Alien: Isolation, Remember Me and NBA 2K15 all come to mind.

You are incorrect. Sounds like you know nothing about PC maintenance. Stop surfing shady-looking porn sites, it will drastically reduce the amount of malicious software that make its way into your dear gaming rig.

I know a bit about PC maintenance :). This build is only 3 months old and it's used exclusively for gaming. All of the shady porn gets accessed from the laptop.

Listen, maybe it was a bit drastic to say it runs like shit, but at the very least I'd say that I don't think it's as well optimized as most top-tier PC games I play.

If you are using 4k60 as baseline for "well optimised top-tier PC game" then I would suggest you to rethink that. 1080p60 is mainstream, baseline, for PC gaming with slow progress towards 1440p60/120. 4k60 is still basically fantasyland with unicorns when it comes to thinking what is baseline for expected resolution and performance level.

For 1080p60 experience Witcher 2 is really well optimised.

I can agree with that.

Perhaps worth noting now that it's been announced that the Expansion Pass for the game is $15.59 going through the Ukraine site as well.

Anyone else buy the expansion pass through Hola? I bought the main game + expansion, and the main game is still in my account, but noticed the expansion has disappeared.

Wondering if it's a temporary thing, since I haven't had my payment refunded or anything, or if they're just weeding out purchases.
