I have a feeling they'll completely avoid talking about whether or not it'll require an internet connection, either that or put a huge spin on it.

Sadly people will happily bend over and live with it.

the beginning of a new generation of games, TV and entertainment.

I wonder whether Microsoft considers Kinect gaming or entertainment.

Name will definitely include XBox, I believe also they will just call it XBox.

Lots of new Kinect stuff will be shown, Kinect will be mandatory.
Used Games: Will run. I cannot believe they will drop the ball there.
Always online: Something like XBox live Gold will require it, but not for stuff which runs outside of XBox Live Gold.
Games: Few from MS (new Forza). EA and Activision will be there to show BF4, Madden and CoD.
Plenty of talk about TV stuff as well.
They will show off their Kinect enabled Pizza and Dorritos ordering apps. Lol.

They probably consider it "intertainment" internally.

Hope there's a cool, nostalgic intro like the PS meeting had. After that, just show me some next-gen games. No apps or voice-recognition shit, just some sweet games.

We'll probably hear about a ton of "partnerships" and a few first party titles will be shown as a tease prior to E3 guns blazing rodeo show.

I predict:
* Hardware reveal and box shown
* Focus on specs and OS features
* Windows 8 integration and W8 store integration shown
* TV cable box / Kinect integration shown
* New xbox gamepad not really discussed.
* A number of games shown but majority are multiplatform with a promise of more games at E3.
* No price revealed yet
* launch window 2013 revealed for Europe and US.
* Many on GAF will be disappointed by their focus on being an entertainment box and not just a game console.

I expect minimal hardware talk but a lot of content/partnership (game and nongame) announcements. Just one game demo/extensive trailer (probably new IP). It's only 60 min and e3 is in a few weeks.

They will show the actual box and make a snarky remark as a veiled insult at Sony for not showing the PS4 box.

Hint: Someone in this thread is being spot on.

I have no proof. But I think this is the best way to drop info.

Steam/Valve. I don't know how or in what regard, but it's coming. That's my main prediction. Everything else seems pretty obvious, but Valve and MS are in cahoots about something and I want to know what.

My predictions(I haven't kept track of all the news):

-They show the actual box unlike Sony

-Alan Wake

-Gears of War

-Watch Dogs

-Destiny

-Always online, but xbox live for free

I would love to see special guests, but I'll have to wait for E3 to see that.

  • Hardware and controller will be and shown.
  • Basic rundown of the specifications of the machine.
  • Announcement that the name of the new machine will be simply "Xbox."
  • Expanded Xbox Live; new basic services w/ announcement of new content providers. Maybe even a new name like Microsoft Live or something.
  • Announce cable TV integration and DVR functions.
  • Heavy focus on Kinect integration into the operating system and it'll actually impress everyone.
  • Subtle "announcement" that the new Xbox will not be always online.
  • Very, very heavy focus on games; Battlefield 4 new Xbox footage and announcement of exclusive DLC. Ryse will make an appearance and impress everyone. Forza will make an appearance and have not so subtle digs at Gran Turismo. Indie games will be given a chance to shine.

I think everyone will be surprised at what Microsoft has to show. It'll be concise, but good. They are likely going to save a lot for E3 to try and take some hype away from Sony.

They'll have something similar to ps+
Microsoft points no longer being used it's all real money now
Kinect 2.0 (we still won't care about it)
Demos of new IP's
New apps and features
They'll show the controller/console

-Kinect 2.0 will amaze
-Cable box features will not impress gaf but be the top of every headline
-Ryse, Respawn or Fallout will be shown
-No exclusive arrangement with EA
-Always online will not be confirmed or denied(Wait till E3 to drop that hammer)
-Console will be shown.

May 21st event: Mainstream stuff. A beefier Version of the 360 MTV event.
-They'll show of the console
-Some details about the hardware itself, but it'll be very superficial
-Teasers for various MS games (PGR! BELIEVE!) and a few third party games (COD Ghosts)
-Multimedia stuff

June: Full blowout
-Game demos
-Pricing, release date etc
-Megatons

Pretty much this.

The funny thing is that they actually showed of a lot of games at E3 2012.

Do you actually believe that, or are you just joking around?

There is nothing in the leaked Kinect 2.0 specs to suggest this.
