Halo 5: Guardians - Leaked Warzone Menu

I'm willing to bet it affects a decent amount of people

Well neither of us have any way to prove anything so it seems that we're just whistling Dixie. This whole thing is silly and has gotten out of hand. It went from "oh the guy will get banned" to hysteria about people losing jobs and such. Yeah, it's a possibility, most of us probably have no idea what will happen though, maybe nothing will come of it. Who really knows?

Is there at least any gamescom footage around besides the broll and besides TeamBeyond's fail 30fps videos? I need Halo in my veins.

Check out the matches from the Gamescom invitational. They're on YouTube and Twitch. I watched a few matches last night and then some more while eating breakfast this morning, lol. October 27 is too far away.

Tell me how you know an NDA has been breached here.

The only way you can possibly know is if you've signed one too, in which case, you've likely broken the terms of the NDA also.

You mean like besides the fact that it's deeply, deeply obvious? These sort of external closed betas are behind NDAs 100% of the time.

Holy shit I just read the thread though. Y'all a bunch of Rileys in here, lol.

Lmao.

The reason why the thread shifted the way it did was because no one gives a shit about menus. don't remember people bickering about nda(???) in the halo 5 ads leak thread Or gears ultimate. Or people like cboat dropping bombs.

This thread...the logic...iMax's bait posts....my head hurts.

NDA was broken. No wiggle room around it.

EDIT: Also:

The Gamertag of the leaker is Dutchy XxX when you stop at the right time. Just to let the right people know.

Just to be sure.

The problem isn't the that the content released is relatively benign. The issue is that this is the 2nd time a beta for MS facilitated by the same company had content under nda leaked.

This type of behavior spoils the relationship between MS and the company and if it continues, could lead to MS dumping them and going with another vendor.

I find these leaks outrageous! Can't a guy just have an absolute pure fiddling with new menu experience anymore with another dude ruining the dawn of the new era of halo menus???

I am offended, distressed, outraged and flabbergasted!

(I stepped into the limelight to be a man of drama!)

The funny thing is that people freaking the fuck out about a leak so obviously reveal that they are a part of a beta and under NDA as well.

Hell, I got more indirect info from the circus around this than from the half a dozen pictures of menus.

Well, they obviously didn't do any external QA with MCC... 343 can't afford another MCC, regardless of the amount of leaks.
I heard from people that played the game before it released that it worked almost flawlessly before launch, then 1/2 weeks before release after a dashboard update things went really bad. Don't know how reliable this info is, though.
Halo 4 worked perfectly at launch (except for file browser) and friends that played H5 beta told me the same, so I think H5 will work at launch.
The fact that they're doing external QA makes me think I'm going to be right.

From MS:

"It's unfortunate when work-in-progress content leaks, but this Halo 5: Guardians content is part of our ongoing private, external testing for multiplayer. We will continue to rigorously test Halo 5: Guardians to ensure the best possible experience for fans at launch."

There's nothing in the beta which is ground breaking if it leaks. They know content from NDA'ed public beta will appear online, and they have the takedown bot lawyers ready.

Ignoring all the NDA / Dobber shenanigans, main thing is it's great to see Audio Options in a Halo title.

I figure this has been introduced as a result of the quite justified complaints regarding the Halo 4 mix, so giving end users the ability to tweak what they want.

Regardless of that the actual audio mix is going to have to be a LOT more consistent that it was in Halo 4! I don't want to have to be adjusting levels between cutscenes and gameplay thanks!

Yes, without his forensic investigative work there was no way anyone else could have worked it out.
Would anyone have snitched like that or just stayed on topic and discussed the menu's? This guy went out of his way to basically get someone in trouble with in the first 3 posts of the thread.

"Went out of his way"

Haha, no. The guys GT is visible in the video, so unless watching it was "going out of his way" I don't think so.

Wouldn't 343i have had the new dashboard update running before it was released to the public or even released to beta testers?

Once again I hope the customization is crazy with Halo.

On the topic of NDAs, how would someone go about trying to test games on the side as a little job? I have a career but I wouldn't mind playing video games on the side for cash.

Thanks man. Do you know how likely it is for people who apply to get approved and how many hours they can test a week? (Also there is no word on how much they get paid per hour)

It's your local minimum wage. Hours are completely random and as they are announced. As long as you sign all the documents, you'll be accepted. MKe sure you read through them though.

Having been a tester before I will tell you to not expect a glamorous job in which you will be playing all the hottest upcoming titles early. If you decide to pursue testing just remember you are there to make the game better, you are not there to entertain yourself. Does that mean fun cannot be had at all? No, you are playing a video game after all.

I'm surprised that a lot of GAF members don't talk about how they are apart of this. It sounds like a sweet deal: play video games in your free time and just record your reactions and complaints in a professional manner. These hours of test times must be inconvenient.

I wouldn't be expecting a lot of fun but just a nice relaxing way to earn money while I sit at home where I would have not done anything productive.

Well, there was a thread about it about a year back where a lot of members signed up and it effectively became free marketing for VMC so mods shut it down. There's a lot of people here that are apart of it though.

You can PM me if you have any specific questions. Most users don't talk about it because they don't want to risk their job. It's like Fight Club. :p

No idea on approval rate, but be aware that approval does generally take a while (think a few months).

You aren't likely to get more than one session per week, and a session lasts between 1 and 4 hours. You'll get paid at least minimum wage for your area, but I think it's possible for some projects to offer more.

All I have to say is good job Taker34. A lot of people are criticizing you in this thread, but you did the right thing regardless of what anyone else thinks.

Hopefully all possible punitive action is taken against the leaker.

Its not that I agree with any kind of NDA breaking act. However, what was leaked was something very minor that just doesnt spoil anything... That said, I believe it is just childish to snitch such a thing, and if there are people who should look into it (search and punish), theyre from MS or 343 themselves.

Again, breaking NDA is wrong and should not be done. I would never do it. But it wasnt anything harmful, so I would not snitch the guy either.
