Congress overrides Obama's veto of Saudi lawsuit bill; Blame Obama for their override

Stupid Republicans.

In additional to National Security issues, they will be opening the door to lawsuits against the United States too.

What's to stop a group in Syria or Iraq or any other country from suing the USA every time a Tomahawk missile or drone strikes a hospital or school?

Or if some yahoo from America decides to go apeshit in another country?

Those countries will have rights to civil lawsuits against the USA now.

The republicans didn't open the door to these issues, that was a widely bipartisan effort.

The republicans are blaming the president for letting them override his veto, however.

“By the time everybody seemed to focus on some potential consequences of it, members had already basically taken a position.”

Well we can't have people changing their positions on issues, flip-floppery will not be tolerated.

Fucking idiots, the lot of them. It may have been political poison, but that certainly doesn't help the situation now, Dems should have grown a spine.

Stupid republican blaming everything on Obamacare as usual. Even when you got the majority can't hold yourself accountable for your own votes. It is literally comedy

But the fact is this was bipartisan. I guess everyone agreed to this. Is there an explanation why? Like the Supreme Court when they always deliver written explanation?

Yes they are but what's with the random unrelated gif? Let's not all be dumb asf.

Eye rolling/fluttering is a sign of showing contempt. Sure there's probably the ulterior motive of posting gifs of Korean chicks but it's not all that unrelated.

The concern for Dems here is there seemed to be pretty strong bipartisan sponsorship support? I'm sure at that point, Dems could have safely stayed away.

Populism in an election year during lame duck period. In fact they may undo most of it in the next session. A rare moment when both sides literally are the same.

Yea, a lot of cowardly Democrats voted for it too because of the damn election and feeding into a completely bogus 9/11 family-sympathy support theme. But 59 Democrats voted not to override the veto, while only 18 Republicans did likewise.

The Republicans will look at this as a victory because, Fuck Obama.

Hell, the 18 Republicans that voted with Obama might even face backlash because of the stupidity of their own voter base.

IIRC there were also a ton of democrats in senate who vetoed it

Just a complete joke
In an election year, less than 2 months to go, voting against such a bill would be political suicide. Republicans knew that when they put it up for vote, they would win either way.

The GOP is the clear party to blame for this mess.

Dude, Schumer sponsored the freaking bill. Things won't get better by us blindly supporting our side. This is a fuck up and both sides and they should be ashamed of the comments they made yesterday and today. Only Reid should hold his head up high.

When we blindly support the left we are just as bad as the right. Stop it.

Yep this was fucked up on both ends. Not happy that Hillary supported it too.
