Curb Your Enthusiasm Season 8 |OT|

yeah, I didn't think Gervais was very good in the episode (he is an arrogant ass in real life and so are his characters, but he's also really goofy... that should've come out a bit more. gervais' alter ego was a bit too far removed from his true personality) but he wasn't terrible either. that's why I hope he makes a return.

unlike a previous poster, I thought the episode's pacing was nearly perfectly, and the ending was hilarious.

Something in Curb felt contrived and forced?

No. WAY.

Hey! it's not "Contrived" or "Forced" if it's funny, no matter how ridiculous and unrealistic the situation is, but when it's not funny, it just seems forced and/or desperate, after all this isn't Family Guy.

I liked this episode but it had less connections than previous episodes. In past ones even a small sentence came full circle at the end. In this case the only two things which were connected were the pills with the bow. Nothing about the research about the bow, or the baseball thing were connected. Kind of an open episode.

Also, did we actually get confirmation that she was a bisexual? She kept saying she was a friend etc etc.

bahahahaha another great episode. god damn this season is outstanding!

Only thing it needed was a circle back with Rosie after Larry was outed.

yeah i agree

this episode was really, really weirdly timed. i just found out today that one of my best girl friends has been dating a girl for 3 months. i had no idea she was bi for like the 10 years that i've known her.

Everything Leon does in the show is hilarious. To bringing back the car all covered in mud with food wrappers everywhere and a baby seat to just inviting himself to stay with Larry. Bats and balls.

Is it just me or are they using a lot more takes where Larry almost totally loses it/cracks up this season than past seasons?
Yeah, anytime you see the back of Larry's head you can tell he has a smile on his face because of how his cheeks are. Plus he practically has a smile on his face the whole time.

Yup! Off the top of my head, the Sir Edmund Hillary and mime comments with Richard Lewis a few weeks ago and the puke comment with the girl tonight. You could hear him dying.

Leon is amazing. He never gets old, dunno why he isn't in every episode.

When he walked into Larry's apt and let out a scream like a teenage girl, I lost it! So funny.

alright, well. I think this might be my favourite episode of the season now. Really tight episode. Rosie and Larry are great together as always - natural, funny, etc. Leon was fucking hilarious (champagne croissant, bats vs glove). Ms. Jane played her role perfectly - she and Larry worked really well together. The Duckstein situation is one that happens so often in real life. And the sushi restaurant stuff was good too. loved it.

Yankees fans in particular surely loved the timing of the Manny reference. Boom, right after it, Larry gets caught. I loved that he didn't get into the Hall over it. Perfection.

Superimposer

This is getting weirder all the time
So I just got back from my holiday, and I have the past 3 episodes ready to watch. Anyone envious? Sounds like it's been amazing

What? The baseball stuff all linked in with the 'juicing' angle, and the Heimlich story linked right in with the first conversation in the episode, where Larry and Jane are talking and Larry mentions how good he is at the Heimlich maneuver. It all flowed together well.

Another decent/OK episode. Seems the payoff at the end wasn't that good as some other episodes.

Whenever Rosie was on screen I couldn't help but focus on the stretch marks on her neck.

I think those were tan lines

Funny episode and all but I can't imagine why that woman would be interested in Larry David and Rosie O'Donnell of all people.
It's always weird seeing Larry with noticeably younger women in the show; it feels like he's written to be ~15 years younger than he actually is.

I guess I'm a hard guy to dissapoint for Curb, but I thought this ep was pretty good

I liked the stuff with the Japanese storyline more than the main one with the bi-sexual, and the annoying friend guy

Leon just inexplicably shows up is a weird coincidence but whatever, he's cool in what little time he has on screen

You must be very young/don't know anything about women

I must be the only one that doesn't really care for Leon all that much. At first his schtick was fresh and funny, but now it's just tiresome.

Some might say Leon was a poor man's Crazy Eyez Killah

I always get this strange feeling that they would slip in a random Jerry Seinfeld cameo again like they did in Season 4's finale (not including previous season obviously)

GeoNeo

I disagree.
Leon and Larry make me so fucking happy such an amazing team...Batman and Superman don't have shit on Leon and Larry.

I love this show so much.

Classic episode. Bats & Gloves, "shit bow", beef up the security on the take-out, juicing, all golden.

Uhhh, what? Why would he need to do research on the internet about the bow when he got all the info he needed from the tourists in the park? And the baseball thing was connected directly to the "juicing" he was doing by popping viagra. How could you miss this?

You're looking at the wrong part. Her whole face and neck were tan, but when you stretch the neck and see white, those are stretch marks.
No, when she stretched her neck and you see white, that is where the fake tanning didn't reach while she was relaxed and the folds were covered. For those white lines to be stretch marks her head would need to be the size of a beach ball.

...and that, kids, was the first time I sucked a dick for crack

Damn, I didn't even realize that. Hahaha.

No those were tan lines. I'm guessing he neck wasn't stretched out when was tanning. You can plainly see that they are where the neck rolls connect to each other. The light of day couldn't get into those creases.

Dammit it all makes sense now. Cant believe I missed all 3 connections.

Leon: Ho ho! Look who’s in the mother fuckin’ house! Ha ha! Leon in the muther fuckin’ house!

Larry: You drove the car? Look what you did to the car.

Leon: Let me tell you something, this mother fuckin’ car got some heart! I was surprised. I thought it was a bitch ass car. This shit got some mother fuckin’ heart to it.

Larry: Why didn’t you fly?

Leon: I don’t fly, baby. You gotta have a photo ID for that. Fuck that. This mother fucker got some room to it too! I got eight mother fuckers up in this car!

Larry: Yeah…what?

Leon: I thought it held only four people.

Larry: What are you saying? You picked up hitch hikers?

Leon: See the baby seat back there. Hell yeah!

Larry: What are you doing here anyway?

Leon: I had to get outa’ that fuckin’ house man. That fuckin roommate was driving me crazy and shit.

Larry: Who?

Leon: The roommate!

Larry: Roommate!? What roommate?

Amazing. :')

Great episode. So much better than last week's with Gervais (and I'm a huge fan of his). Rosie O'Donnell has always been hilarious on Curb.

Thought this episode was alright, preferred last weeks.

Everything was good bar the stuff with Rosie O Donnell, can't stand her. The stuff with Leon was great (as always).

I did think the whole juicing angle played perfectly. So many great quotes for baseball fans here with the "recovery not enhancement" and "not getting into cooperstown." This was better than the previous episode in my opinion because it was simple and the return of Leon doesn't hurt.
