No Ray Tracing on Hitman is a letdown
Hitman 3 will support ray tracing on PC “later in 2021.” Although RT isn’t available on the release day, developer IO Interactive has stated that it will be added via a free update after the launch of the game.
We've been fine without rt all these years. Its not a big deal. The option would be nice but at least we're getting 4k/60fps and 1800/60fps.

PS5 could easily run at 4k. There is clearly a headroom for it.
In this thread alone i'm starting to see accounts that i've not seen in ages all of a sudden posting.A lot of hurt folk over the past 3 months venting out hoping "this is it".... kinda sad but then again they can't be helped. The long involuntary hibernation for lots of accounts that received the bat signal today is over (until the next one of course). When grasping hard at an statistical irrelevance within a sample on a cross-gen game you know you're desperate. DF of course, fast on the scene unlike on previous games, and with a striking, clear cut, and "unusual" headline relative to previous titles for this new generation. The struggle is alive and well, and the players are well defined, including the outfits providing the "analysis".
As for this game, it's what it's. The shadow quality disparity is highly suspect and talks to the quality of the PS5 port, on a non RT title, that doesn't push this system at all. I'll just leave it at that.
That's because you're not a developer. They alone will know what or if there is any headroom in this case.If this is true then why are the shadows only at medium on PS5, while they are at high on XsX? Before I upgraded to a 3080, shadows was one of the first settings I looked to tweak if I was struggling to maintain steady FPS in PC games.

Comparing the PC benchmarks with the console results, it’s kinda weird for me that the PS5 isn’t native 4K/60 as well. A RTX 2070 can run it at 4K/60 with ultra settings, and the PS5 performance indicates (from previous comparisons) that it’s right there between a RTX 2070 and 2080.
Maybe it’s some sort of oversight or something that will be patched and improved later on, just like Dirt 5 did on Series X. Would have wanted DFs comment/explanation on that performance gap, since they called out Series X underperformance on Dirt 5 and called it a „bug“, but now are just basically saying „well, it’s probably just the stronger hardware on XSX.“

- Does the 1800p res on PS5 have to do something with the PS4 Pro version? Are there any remnants of a BC component?
- Is the PSVR version affecting the highest res of the PS5 version? Is such a thing possible?
- Could the medium shadow settings be a 'bug' (as it was in the Dirt 5 version)?
- If it is locked 60, could the PS5 version be scaled up to 2160p and still perform at 60 FPS flawlessly -- except for that Mendoza level?
