You can probably customize Lars to look like Jacky Bryant anyway...

I think there's a huge potential for the players to get really fucked over.

Well with community leaders like Combofiend at Capcom and other people at different companies I think we as players/fans can communicate with devs and hopefully something that pleases both sides can come of it.

I'm not speaking out of naivety, I understand how the real world works, but I think there is at least some chance that we can get companies to understand that pay to win is in no ones interest and that the characters themselves must be free as they are what makes up the fighting in a fighting game.

But all other extra things like colors, costumes, stages, music, ect can be up for grabs for those that want to pay. In a way I see fighting games as a perfect venue for F2P model.

Imo f2p fighting games are w/e, I don't mind them. It all comes down whether their online sucks or not, b/c whats the point on doing f2p is online is ass.

It's the Mishima onion head.
You're goddamn right. I might not be able to make him look like Dio Brando in DOA, but his inclusion alone makes the game automatically better than all Tekkens combined.
While Jacky is possibly one of my favorite FG characters.....no...just...no

Anyone know the gem sets allowed in tournaments for SFxT? Took off the gems for all the characters months ago and I'm trying to get back into it before EVO.

lol, big companies aren't going to be listening to fans anymore than they have been

no one gives a shit about fighters from smaller companies so it doesn't even matter if they listen or not

and there's no reason to think a f2p fighter couldn't succeed even if it charges for characters

The idea of F2P fighters scares me. A F2P fighter future could be really awesome, but it could be really, stupid too.

I kinda trust Namco to have a reasonably ethical model. Capcom though? Hahahaha.

Really xTekken has turned into law and paw mirror matches?
Because people are too lazy to find out tech and just copy whatever's on stream. It's even worse for SFXT since people jump in hoping fundamentals and a top tier will help them win without really knowing the game.

Sounds like a good opportunity for some innovator to get some rent money

Was watching Shouta on stream in VF- did good against opponent- Chanchai kinda took liberties with him in the 2nd. Too much throw attempts when pressured.

CAPCOM is sponsoring VxG now?! They added a pot bonus to their games?!!! Is this old news?

Yeah. Capcom sponsoring VxG is kind of weird to me because aren't they doing a Marvel exhibition thing where you can bet on the outcome in the casino or something? You'd think that would be something that Capcom, a Japanese company, wouldn't want to directly associate with.

Or maybe I don't know much about business culture and it's no big thing. I don't know.

I don't think it has much to do with Capcom being a japanese company but moreso being located in Japan. They hosted tournaments all across the world that had prize money for the 25th anniversary. I'm sure gambling on exhibitions aren't a big deal given that its legal.

VXG is shaping up to be a pretty good event so far. It's cool that not only is there a tournament but its also a nice tourism spot.

Pretty funny how VxG went from "they're just luring you guys in to steal your kidneys" to Capcom sponsoring it.

I hope this means they'll be sponsoring more tourneys but not holding my breath.
