As a family with Cuban Americans I see a lot of this same attitude. A lot believe they are the "good ones" and have a "fuck you I have mine" attitude about Hispanics and immigration. A lot of belief it was okay for Cubans to come over here illegally or as refugees but any Mexicans who flee for a better life are scum. It's depressing.

I'm all about amalgamating the multiple ethnicities into a single one over time through reproduction, that subscribes to the ideals of western culture (i.e. democracy, equal rights and protection et al). But afaik, King is all about thinly veiled racism with the same ideology as any xenophobic racist and Jon is on the same track.

Diversity is judged relative to the makeup of the population that an industry is drawing from. There's no black people in Bollywood movies because there's no black people in India.

I worked with one as well until today, he's from another country himself but would always make offhand comments about other foreigners behind their backs.

Not at all culture is a fluid thing developed from evolving social norms. I'm not defending his opinion, i'm defending his right to state it. That doesn't really answer the point though and I don't think it makes sense to argue that any race 'inherits' anything from those of the same genetic group. Yeah, that's clearly not what he's discussing. His first tweet yesterday was about how "we can't rebuild our society with someone else's babies", as an argument against immigration. It's clear what he thinks we should look like, and it's not that idealized "everyone is tan" thing.

I don't really think, at anything less than a geological time scale, the "complete mix" thing is going to ever happen no matter how much bigotry is shattered. Even as part of a deliberate eugenics project it would take multiple generations. I doubt it could ever happen even within 500 years.
