Reddit troll apologizes for trump CNN gif/all those racist remarks

From CNNs own article;
CNN reserves the right to publish his identity should any of that change.

Sounds like a very large media company bullying and threatening a person, and not at all investigative journalism. All in the name of making money.

This is insanity. Am I the only one that sees this as insanity? 10 pages of people justifying CNNs shit behavior. All of it over a .gif, and some lunatic racists tirades on the internet.

CNN came knocking for a comment and he realized he wasn't hidden behind 900 proxies like he thought he was and suddenly shit himself.

All these racist pieces of shit are the same. Talk big while they hide behind the internet. When they get caught its crying like a bitch about how sorry they are and they meant no harm

True Story.

You clearly haven't read the thread if you're making that statement and asking that question.

I'm going to ask the same question I asked someone else earlier: do you expect people to take your contributions to a conversation seriously when you ignore all context to that conversation?

This sounds so much more nefarious when CNN is bullying "a person" in one paragraph, while "some lunatic racist" is hiding away in another.

Imagine this was a (allegedly) 15 year old ,hyper liberal antifa leaning kid that made this a Breitbart meme about Hillary stomping them, President Hillary retweeted... and Breitbart tracked them down, forced them to apologize and threatened to dox them if they continued memeing. They did this publically as a warning to silence others who might meme Breitbart. This is a free speech issue in my mind and a coercion/blackmail one as well. One just might need to step away from biases to see it clearly. I could be wrong,That is just my opinion.

I feel free speech , as provided by and in the bounds of law, is the most important thing. The individuals information should certainly be handed over to authorities privately regarding the other posts should they meet the standard of hate speech and have charges filed, Those posts and the WWF meme are two separate issue in my mind, but I am not a lawyer,

Why imagine hypotheticals convenient to your politics when we have things that actually happened to discuss

If all DLC came tied to $13 figurines, I'd consider all DLC to be free
So you catch someone stealing, confront the person, he gives the stuff back and promises to not do it again. You promise to keep the stuff between you unless he steals again.

This is blackmailing now?

He should be happy that they just didn't give out his name but contacted him for a comment first and let him put up that fake apology.

JESUS FUCKING CHRIST

WHERE ARE THEY ALL COMING FROM???????

Is it that hard to not legitimize bullshit information from known bullshitters. This could be a 40 year old man for all we know.

To even put alleged in front of the claim is to give people who have fabricated pure garbage time and time again power.

He's just a dumb kid, leave him alone.

Don't you see how bad it is that he's been exposed and might have his life ruined by having his identity plastered all over the national news?
He hasn't been exposed at all..
What the hell are you talking about. His name isn't out and I'm pretty sure he isn't a Kid... Otherwise CNN wouldn't even think about publishing his name.

Racists exist on the internet. Reddits r/I'mGoingToHell is a shithole, and you can find worse. The news shouldn't be moral police. Tracking down some random asshole is what paparazzi do.

It absolutely appears to be coercive, but I am more than willing change my opinion if there is evidence otherwise.

What would I know though, I'm just a socialist from Canada.

Tracking down someone the President of the United States uses for a source of material is the very definition of journalism. Even more so when its discovered the person has a history of racism, anti-Semitism, calls for violence etc.

Oh cool you can be convinced if there is evidence. If only there was any. Like if only there was a thread, on this site, that specifically outlined that evidence and why this was pushed further and isn't just moral policing. Sadly, no such thing exists.

Its Donald Trump. He also listens and believes to Info Wars. We also already know he follows and posts on T_D and /pol/. What purpose would there be in doing so. Russian intelligence?

It's always the anime avatars. Always.

They didn't do anything illegal to obtain his identity. Why wouldn't they publish him if he continues to advocate violence against CNN?

These people harass, threat, doxx other people, they even ruin lifes and in extreme cases let others to suicide just for the fun of it but when it is their turn its the same excuse "he/she was joking, didn't know better" or "they made a mistake they should be forgiven".

Why?

Seriously what is up with that.
It's also easy to forget we are on a video game forum, or that Gamergate was essentially the start of all of this, when their overlap is mostly angry young white men who spend too much time online. They usually fall into certain demographics.
It's just rather silly to point out that they always have anime avatars or something when we are on a website dedicated to video games and other niche communities.

The best explanation that I've heard is that it's due to 4chan. 4chan started off as an anime board and still has a prominent presence as one, but also holds a major far right board by way of /pol/. So those got connected through that.

I also imagine that there are certain and character archetypes that appeal to particular types of people. I dunno.

Gamergate was essentially the start of all of this

I don't think that's true. It may be for particular community, but it was just drawing people from the gaming community into something that was already brewing elsewhere. Breitbart didn't come into existence due to Gamergate, but Gamergaters loved funneling people to Breitbart.

Well to all those defending this little smeg nugget, I went onto twitter and in the first page I found the addresses of a bunch of people at CNN.

That's an actual attack, this little dick cheese as soon as CNN came calling deleted all the posts (after they were archived because this is the internet), and issued a massive crawling and obviously fake apology.

If I had any friends who posted that shit and then claimed they were my friend I would disown them in such a public way their children would be shutins, stop enabling arseholes. If they are posting racist, hateful, disgusting threatening stuff then they aren't using free speech, that is hate speech and they should face consequences accordingly.

God I am going to have to leave the entire internet as this shit is just depressing.

Imagine not knowing what free speech is and using your lack of knowledge to defend a racist on the internet.
