Wait, what. It's obvious cboat just mixed up alpha and beta. Why would it make sense to have shit textures in alpha, better textures in beta that tens of thousands of people saw, and then go back to those shit textures for release? That's not how stuff works.

Cboat has a history of leaks.. Some right some wrong... after this titanfall leak we are just gonna dismiss what he says from now on? Obviously this guy has connections and or works for MS... he is only telling us what he thinks is truth from people higher up.

Also, they won't tell anyone the resolution, only what resolution it is not. It seems weird to even bother answering these tweets when they do that.

Maybe Bish suspects the account has been compromised, and it's at the end of its usefulness.
Or maybe CBoaT got found out, lost his job, lost his connections, and is trying to use his position to lash out. There was a time when he said he'd be disappearing for a while, but he's come back a lot lately.
Or maybe, as said above, it was pitched as a solution to technical issues (maybe in some modes the textures run at a reduced resolution, but not all modes). Doubling-down in the face of the beta was odd, though.
On the other hand, 792p is such a weird resolution to shoot for. I know about the "almost 720p" games of the previous generation, but to shoot for just a little above it, why not just go with native 720p and use the breathing room for other things?

We can't really be assured of the accuracy of his info anymore. He may put up some legit leaks from time-to-time, but there's a risk of some serious blowback if he leaks something that turns out not to be true. I don't think it's fair for developers to have CBOAT spread FUD about their game when it turns out not to be true.

I thought making a picture made a better example than trying to articulate it. Is cboat not correct in stating that the textures in the alpha the final assets? Or is there more to the story that I don't know?

most PR machines don't respond to these kind of things (we don't comment on rumors...etc) so you could often make an excuse for being wrong by adding disclaimers that things are fluid and can change.
so it didn't really make sense that he double-downed when Respawn comes out and directly refutes his claims.

I don't know exactly about amazing, but those are definitely some solid screens. If they can keep the game looking like that and lock down the framerate to a solid 60, Xbox One owners will have nothing to worry about.
Game plays like a dream, too.

Agreed and honestly I found the framerates to be very good. If there was slowdown I didn't notice it.
Game looks great for me I'm happy with how it looked in the beta.

When I played the Beta on Xbox One, I definitely noticed plenty of frame rate drops (mainly on Fracture and less so on Angel City). But Vince Zampella said they fixed most of the frame rate issues. Hopefully it should be much more stable on launch.

The drops were extremely consistent, too. If you look at the graph, you can see exactly where any little bit of action is coming up.

looks pretty good to me. although this type of game you aren't ever really standing around oogling at the scenery in the first place so graphics are always going to be secondary to how the game plays, map design, etc.
i don't think too many people care about how the game looks after having played it. not to beat a dead horse...but that's what made cboats focus on titan falls graphics even more strange. party chat and # of maps is one thing but why harp on something when we already knew the graphics weren't going to blow anyone away.

You might as well say you can never judge a game since they can always be patched. A publisher does not release a beta for hundreds of thousands of people to play if they aren't confident it's representative of the final product. An open beta is not an incomplete game, it's a sales pitch.
If you're expecting much to change from open beta to release, especially in under a month's time, prepare for sore disappointment.
So someone being paid hundreds of thousands of dollars to work PR for a major company can spread whatever FUD they want but an anonymous tipster can't. Makes sense...
