Not really enjoying the L
ondon Monitor
fight. The first part is easy but tedious, but then I just get mowed down by the chaingun when I try to run underneath it.

I wait till it start charging up before running beneath it. When its charging, it stop shooting the chain guns.

I think you can destroy the chain guns too. I think.

Took me a few tries to defeat it. But try waiting in cover till its charging then run like hell, empty a rocket or LKW shot then run back. You only need to do it twice I believe.

Finished the game today. Definitely a cool, solid game with some pretty awesome characters and game mechanics. The Starbreeze guys finally nailed gun combat this time around. Dat final boss checkpoint tho. And call me cheesy, but I was severely disappointed by the lack of
macabre enemies and Mecha Hitler
.

I don't get that luck. I killed some one and his friend came and saw the body and started the alarm.

To be fair the protagonist in Infinite didn't have much personality at all.

My favorite line so far (I haven't gotten far honestly) is part of this thread's title, "Ok, so they put Nazis on the moon.... fuck the moon!" Me and my roommate both paused, and then started laughing when we heard that.

Well I was playing without the new 3GB patch, that might be why the enemies behave differently. I was like hell no I'm downloading a 3GB patch. Game still was great without it.

Yeah the antagonist from Infinite was dry as hell. For a guy who was so involved in the game, he got no personality at all, the main antagonist got more personality. Even if they were
the same person.

This Wolfenstein game got a lot of great dialogue. Conversations between BJ and Anya, and Fergis was deep. The supporting cast outside of Anya and Fergus/Wyatt got little background but they really complimented BJ.

One of my favorite is Tekla. That nutty scientist/philosophy chick. That one conversation she had with BJ when she woke him up in the middle of the night was truly profounding.

I might go on Amazon and buy the art book. I love the art style of this game. Hope we'll get a sequel.

Does anyone have the answer for this? I'm playing on PS4 and got it patched, so I don't think I could just do the last chapter and get it.

It just worked for me on PC today. It's not too difficult to do so I think it's worth trying it to see if it still works.

Just delete your game install. Remember the game install not save files. It should be like 23GB I think.

Delete that. Then reinstall it, when it prompt for you that Its downloading the update, just go to "Downloads" and press option on the download patch to delete it.

Or you can just do it the easy way.

Delete the game install, reinstall it, and then disconnect your internet from your PS4. So it won't keep auto downloading the patch whenever you start the game.

The patch isn't really necesarry, since I didn't encounter any game breaking bugs.

How are you guys getting this game to downsample properly?

I was playing at 1620p last night and I can't believe it took me like 30 minutes to realize that the image had blown up or zoomed in, whatever you want to call it. I didn't realize I was playing like this until I noticed that the ammo amount was not displayed.

I tried first setting this resolution from the Nvidia Control Panel, then starting the games, but nope. This is the first time I seem to be having trouble getting a game to downsample.

I finished the game last night and absolutely loved it. Such a surprise hit for me as just a few weeks ago, I had little interest in this game. After all the positive reviews and impressions I decided to give it a shot.

The shooting was extremely fun and the story was surprisingly good and engaging. I always try to care about stories in games, but very rarely do I care by the very end. This story kept me engaged until the very end. First game to do so since TLoU.

Without a doubt this game will be one of my sleeper hits for the year.

I just came there to say that this is easily the best FPS campaign I've played in years. The story, the world building, the dialogue, the characters and the art direction are all so far ahead of what I expected. It is true that the rendering tech can't compare to say Frostbite and whatever black magic GG used on Killzone SF but the art direction and color palette makes the game look very nice in places and the rest of it is so damned impressive that its easy to ignore. This game is GOTY worthy and I truly hope it gets the sales it deserves.

Definitely picking this up after seeing this thread. Played a bit of butcher bay back in the day.

After poking my head in here and seeing this post and finding out about ex-Starbreeze staff, I am so glad I chanced on your post. I would've never realized.

I got every single collectible. I'm going to beat the final chapter on Uber. I'm really looking forward to playing through the
bonus modes
now that I have everything. Just pure shooting and killing.

Some dude just gave me acid and now I am rocking out to some crazy guitar riffs!

Someone seriously needs to make a list of all the possible interactions you can have. My second playthrough I am finding so many things I missed the first time. A lot of it is really small but just adds to the world.

There was a busted down car and I noticed a prompt. BJ got in and pretended he was driving picking up chicks. Hilarious!

Just got through the first 1.5 hours and I'm already enjoying the characterization. Never thought I'd say that about a wolfenstein game.

Playing on Uber makes this game a lot of fun. Things are still pretty easy in the beginning, but shit gets real after BJ 'wakes up'. I find myself mixing up stealth, cover shooting and explosive dual wielding action in every major encounter. The hit reactions are a joy to watch as well.

Don't really have any complaints about the AI so far. I've seen lot worse.

Could you also relay to MachineGames that we love them and the game is great and please keep doing what they do.
Seriously this.

This is the kind of FPS I adore and I've really missed it. They've gotten so much right with this game. I can't wait to see what they do next.

Just beat it, a ton of fun, no complaints. There were some times I was able to clear rooms (unintentionally) by running past enemies to look for cover, which then saved the checkpoint. I would die, and then be able to go back to t he empty room and grab secrets.

I think the story could have been more interesting near the end, but when a game is fun to play I can typically leave the narrative out of the enjoyment I had.

macabre enemies and Mecha Hitler
.

Chapter 16 spoilers

Don't know if it was just me but I thought the whole "brain inside a machine" thing was hinting so hard at Mecha Hitler. Like maybe the purpose of the program was to allow Hitler to live forever inside a machine or something. I was expecting the victory over Fergus/Wyatt to be a fluke because their loyalty to B.J. was holding them back, and Deathshead would try with another brain (Hitler's) that clearly hates B.J. End fanfic.

I am at a loss for words as to how good this game was. I just finished playthrough 1. I played it on my HTPC with everything maxed except that FPS texture loading limit thing (the one that makes AMD cards stutter for a while sometimes)

Looked good outside of some nasty textures. But this is one of those games where you say... who cares? I haven't felt like this about an FPS campaign since Half Life 2 and its episodes, and was thoroughly impressed with the character building, world, gunplay and its general self awareness. I've already sold 2 copies to others with the words "what if the nazis won world war 2?" lol :)

Going to ask.

Cool, thank you. Based on other responses I think beating it through chapter selection will work. Going through on Uber mode again to finish off my perks and collectables, also to see the difference in Wyatt's timeline.

My thoughts on the game; what an awesome surprise. Had a craving for a quick fps single player game, did not expect to get something with the scope of a game like Half-life 2. The game is insanely detailed, took me longer to beat just because I was looking in awe at some of the environmental stuff everywhere. Really well directed cut-scenes, entertaining story, and satisfying gunplay. Not much else I could ask for. Stealth game play was really fun as well, popping a round into enemy's heads with the ridiculous silenced pistol dosen't get old.

Did have a few issues though: The game felt a little bloated because of the hideout sections, and the few boss battles were pretty poor in my opinion. Also I think there's a little too many cinematic sections, like running away from the Panzerhunds multiple times and having to wait and move slowly through some places. It's killing some of the pacing of the second playthrough. AI could be better, especially during stealth, but it didn't bother me much.

That's it. Overall it's a blast, definitely one of the better single player fps games I've played in quite a while.

i'm on my 2nd playthrough right now and even after only 5 chapters
i already noticed so many small details and secrets that i've missed during my 1st run.
god i love this game so much!

So, I bought the game from best buy with the $20 pre-order/pickup deal. For some reason I received $30 in certs + a $5 off coupon for not receiving my figurine. Not bad

MachineGames' first-person shooter Wolfenstein: The New Order entered the UK all format chart this week in first place, Chart-Track figures have revealed.

It's the first game in the series to do so since the UK's all format chart began in 1997. 2001's Return to Castle Wolfenstein managed number 11. 2009's Wolfenstein reached number two.

Wolfenstein is the second biggest release of 2014, behind Respawn Entertainment's Titanfall.

Awesome. Even though that's the combined sales score for 5 platforms, hopefully game will sell well and enable Machine Games to make another game. I would be incredibly bummed if they dont get chance to continue working.

CVG reports more details about 1st week Wolfenstein UK sales:
PS4 38%
Xbone 31%
X360 12%
PC 11%
PS3 8% [not listed, but that's the percentage that is missing for reaching 100%]

Is that the one you get in the corner on the way down?

It either does nothing or its a battery upgrade.
