Final Fantasy Type-0 (Fan) Translation Released

Sky alluded to on GBAtemp that he might be able to make a 60fps hack for emulators.
It's really just a simple cheat code that unlocks the framerate.
If you were to use it on a PSP, it wouldn't help, since the console is struggling with the game as it is already.
I even got that code, but I don't know if I'm allowed to share it.

You can post the code, nothing wrong with that.
Although Sky said it's a permanent hack he made. Maybe it just makes the same changes the code makes to the actual game files.

It was just just hypothetical talk so a lot of your questions are a) meaningless b) already answered multiple times throughout the thread. But, yeah, I hope I don't have to specify that I wasn't meaning literally 99% but you're clearly delusional if you truly believe that the majority of them, as the previous user claimed, will be from legit customers.

Heavy traffic, apparently...

Is it an absolute must to merge the UMD files? I can't seem to figure out how to do so.

Doesn't look like it
The automatic patcher is all you need to translate your copy of Final Fantasy Type-0. Just make and ISO dump of either UMD (you can also use the Merged ISO) and select it after clicking the “patch” option. Then choose where to save the patched ISO Image and wait for the patcher to generate it. Simple as that ;):

wait, so this is a separate download from the merge files??? why is it so big?
Looks like it contains the merge files also.

I'm on Mac OS X and using google chrome.

When I click download it says "https://mega.co.nz wants to permantely store large data to your local computer Allow?"

Is this normal?

Yes. That site downloads to cache first before saving to a file.

Yup, since it uses their own encryption scheme to download the data and decrypt it in your temp folder before you actually get the save prompt.

Whew, that went down fast XD

Downloading now though, it'll take a while on my net, but so gonna be worth it.

...The effect this is going to have on my exam study proooobably won't be worth it though XD

Site came back up long enough for me to have a look at the patching instructions. The patcher essentially automatically merges for you (it's why the patch is ridiculously enormous). You just need to dump either ISO and then run the translation patch on it and you're done.

Do you guys know if you can set the dpad to both the stick and the dpad? I want to control the camera with my right stick but obviously navigate the menus with the pad

Just mapping them both to the dpad doesn't work unless I'm doing something wrong

It works fine for me. I'm using a DS4 with Xinput wrapper.

You can do that in PPSSPP.

Hmm. That's what I'm trying to do, but if I set them both to the dpad then only the right stick will work.

I noticed some peculiar behavior yesterday. If I set them both, then the dpad still worked, but I had to tap the dpad buttons very quickly for it to register. I'm not sure if there's a way around that or not.

Are you clicking the "+" sign to add an input to each direction?

Edit: I've had some issue with this is the past, too. Last time was with MHFU, where the DPAD would randomly become unresponsive, and with Type-0 where the Dpad won't accept as many inputs. It's definitely buggy.
