Yea what's up with that?
At this point we should have got an official high quality comparison between current and last gen versions like we had from TR at the time, very unusual for a game coming in a month.

As we've seen from the latest Corrine's tweet they are still working on this game and try to get it above 60, seems they are really out of schedule with it's development, hope they make it.

Well they can work till the 11th hour with a day 1 patch so they still have a full month or more to get the coding finished, they are aiming for a Rock solid 60fps and they will achieve it I am convinced.

From a game/engine made specifically to the strengths of the PS3 that would barely display an output less than 12 months ago to having it run 1080/60 on brand new hardware it was never designed for....just is astounding talent and skill from the entire team!

Bearing in mind they also have UC4 and Aother game in development they are busy bee's and this is a good way to get R&D in while making a product and giving the audience what they want!

More cinematic? What does that even mean? Some people prefer the game to look less smooth with its animations and everything?

It means it looks more like a film, aka 24fps, yes some prefer that over 60 fps.

Some for example gets motion sick at too high framerates, or perhaps think anything over 30 doesn't look real because they're so used to watching film which has taught their brains that 24fps looks real.

Thought about importing this to Oz from Amazon UK, but there's only a $2.99 difference when you include shipping on today's exchange rate, so I reckon I'll be pre-ordering locally. Wouldn't mind breaking my digital only cherry with this, but I can't find the game at the Australian store yet.

I'd wager the Platinum will require the new difficulty to complete. Curious when we'll see a trophy list.

Would be cool if they did something more with the trophies this time.

TLOU had the most depressing trophy list. All just completel the game and collect all the stuff trophies.... And the Finish Survivor on NG+ idea was lame.

The point is that this one is a "technical" release.

There are tons of trailers around, but not a single one that show why someone must choose the PS4 version.

To be perfectly honest, I suspect a Youtube video is going to a modest improvement. The benefits of 60fps are completely throw away on Youtube, and even the image quality improvements of 1080p will be mostly reduced. The only differences will be the character models and whatever other small texture/detail improvements were made.

the point is it doesn't hurt them when they show the improvements. a week before release will be totally fine for people that are planning on double dipping. for people that haven't played it if they were interested they are going to buy it anyways from looking at the reviews and awards for the ps3 version.

Do we know what sort of lighting system they upgraded too? Global Illumination?

Not gonna happen, nor is it needed since the time of day is directed from the story. Prebaked with dynamic lighting when need be is fine, and a better use of resources.
