There's animation on the PS button.

That's true but that's not hard to pull off. The white bar makes it looks very fake, unless Sony changed the way it censors name and status.

I know PS4 censors notification when you stream but I don't know how it works when you share a footage.

Gamescom couldn't come any sooner!

This looks brilliant. The one underwhelming feature of the PS4 for me is the UI - it's OK but really nothing like as good as I expected a "next gen" console to be.

Yeah, the glowing effects (especially around "Accept/Decline") seems to so inaccurately loop when the PS button is flashing and looping, and the animation actually stops short of completing.

I am having a hard time believing this. Maybe I'm overseeing this. This is a very good solution to the problem. Fix it, Guerilla!

Oh thank christ! I've been waiting for a way to declutter my PS4 XMB for ages, since every game downloaded just adds to the main screen mess.

The horizontal content bar is such an awful idea.
Sure, it's fine as long as the app or game you're looking for is on the first screen, but if not? Have fun searching through every single item on your PS4. Or you could just go straight for the Library (which may take a while to navigate there, depending on many apps/games you have) and search for it again, though it's at least sorted alphabetically. By the way, they really went out of their way to waste as much screen real estate as possible and make it as ugly as they could.

A lot of this has been said, but.. I can't believe some of you guys are saying it's 100% real or 100% fake.

This could just be for internal use only, a mock-up, some sort of 'alpha' to pass around the HQ or a work-in-progress.

Edit: also on the other hand, it wouldn't be that hard to make, but who made them? Trace it back to the Source I say!

On the one hand this looks way too good to be true and that video is sketchy (I feel if it was real the usual copyright bullshit would've been pulled already). On the other hand it looks like a very natural evolution of the UI, almost a finished version, since let's be honest the current UI is very....rough to say the least. Please be real as hopes have been elevated.

There is a desire for the UI to be updated to allow basic features such as folders and the ability organise your games.

It would also be nice to be able to pause and manage downloads too. It is 2014 after all.

I really don't understand why they thought the horizontal bar was a good idea when they are promoting digital purchases.

At least make the library at the start of the process, and not at the bloody end.

Why is it dumb? In the world where this UI exists, pressing the PS button would bring up all of the trophy information on the side of the screen like in the pics without having to sync the trophies then shuffling through all of the other game's trophies just to see that specific one you just earned.

They did change the side of which the notifications pop up on a few weeks ago..

The playstation logo in this UI mockup, or to be more exact, a replication of the Playstation-button on the PS4, signifies interactivity when you press that button. It's also there on the snap-like windows and the invite window.

Basically it means 'press the PS button to open the trophy menu' or 'press the PS button to open/close the invite window'. It's to signify that the PS button is context-sensitive.

Doesn't seem implausible at all. It's a unified look and it makes sense if you look at the rest of the images.

Indeed. That part is sweet. I was referring to the part where Sony would be removing the type of trophy you received on the first screen (revealing less information than they currently do) and also telling you to press the playstation button every time you get a notification. There has to be a better way to do that. I mean this is from the same company that had basically no on screen tutorial when you first startup the PS4 to tell you how double tapping the playstation button actually works, etc.

The outline of the trophy icon is of the same color of the trophy you unlocked. Bronze for bronze, silver for silver, gold for gold.
