My stream JUST finished, but you can watch the backlog since both my earlier stream (2nd & 3rd playthroughs) and the newest one (4th & 5th) are in there. http://www.twitch.tv/shadowkingpin

Crazy that one method could work consistently for someone but never work for someone else. What exactly is going on here.

10 steps works for all. Walking backwards to the exit turns on the light for all. Why cant we figure out this damn other giggle.

You stand in a spot. Others are walking around when they hear it. Whatever triggers this moves around the house, it is the only way to explain people standing still and hearing it at certain times and those wandering getting it. Maybe certain actions we do makes the trigger point appear in certain spots at certain times.

This picture is the perfect representation of everyone who has ever played this demo's anger.

Yeah. Once I had a goal in mind of getting that damn ending I wasn't even scared.
Actually just walked right up to her hoping in vain something would happen on that loop attempt.
As others have said since this was to be a reveal I like the idea here but the main game can't do something like this. Only a UFO ending I would find acceptable to have a puzzle like this.

With that said yes I know P.T. isn't real representation for SHs.

Did anyone else screw up when they triggered everything correctly? I didn't zoom in on the phone long enough when it was vibrating and I had to spend an hour trying to get it to work again, haha.

Yay!

What I did...

First giggle:
10 step method

Second giggle:
Stood around forever trying different methods. Stared at the fetus, etc. Nothing doing so I saw someone mention something about going to the last place she-ghost was so next music I looked for ghost she was outside a window. Waited for that music to pass and ghost to disappear. Stayed in that spot starring at phone (no R3) and didn't move during next music. Got the giggle. Still didn't move.

Third giggle:
Controller Vibrated. Stayed still. Giggle. Phone rang. Yay!

So if you're stuck, look for the ghost and stay still in her spot for the next music phase. See if that works. Still could be totally random.

There's a pretty cool post on Kotaku about it:
http://kotaku.com/the-next-silent-hill-already-has-bonkers-fan-theories-1621737836

A popular theory seems to be that the game is going to be about multiple realities/alternate worlds (hence the S at the end of the title), so I wouldn't be surprised if the actual solution to the final puzzle was something that differs per person.

Maybe they have a set bunch of patterns, and which pattern you get is determined by the day of the week, the time you're playing, the last digit of your PS4 serial code, when you downloaded the game, screw it I dunno.

Probably, would not surprise me.

Posted this in the reactions thread, didnt see this main thread until now:

I stream on the weekends and some of my viewers want me to check out P.T.

Mind you, I have never really played any scary games before. The scariest game I've played was Resident Evil: Code Veronica (not scary, I know) I also can't remember the last scary movie I have seen. So basically I am a horror noob, and I don't know if I should buckle under the peer pressure and check this out. The only thing I have seen on P.T. is the Gamescom reaction shots.

Should I check out something else first? or dive in with this? What say you, GAF?

Papercuts

fired zero bullets in the orphanage.
Beat it a third time, this time I just had the shitty PS4 mic plugged in and laying on the floor, never said anything and got a giggle just standing still waiting to do the 10 step thing.

It was actually really weird when I booted it, though. It was like I was in the end game, but there was no hell message on the wall. So I wiped the save and restarted.

I would seem as though Chico-- I mean... Quiet... is having a little trouble overcoming her fears!

Been too busy with work this week to sit down and play this, but I'm *so excited* to check it out. I've been waiting for a legit Silent Hill comeback for so long now, and it seems like even this demo is genuinely terrifying people. Sign me up!

I am so fucking confused ... Everything everyone has mentioned is not happening in my game ... Nobody hAs mentioned ths hello trick and im currently stuck in a hellish red loop of mirrored parts of the hall ... Did I fuck up? Do I have to start over?

I played it with 4 friends for 15 minutes two days ago. It was "hmhm, interesting and spooky sound, ke" - yesterday I tried to continue the teaser alone ... I think I 'played' ca. 10 minutes before I had to stop. This thing is fearsome.

//edit - I would love to share my experiences with you in this and the other threads ... but for this I would need to gain some experiences in-game. Not sure if...

Solution
Find a hole in the wall and R3 into it. It Will be above a fallen frame.
You have to keep going through the loop until it happens. You'll just notice that it'll be on the floor. Its the wall in the hallway opposite to the hole in the bathroom

So I get the whole "Silent Hills" being for multiple realities..,,alternate universes...(as shown in the demo). But no one else thinks the "Hills" is just "Hill5" fashioned as an "S"? Since this is the first numbered game since 4?

I finally managed to beat it. That was really, really creepy. I'm looking forward to the final game, especially if the tone of P.T is an indicator of the atmosphere.

That was one of the assumptions but I think it plays more into the multiple reality scenario they seems to be going with. I don't think they designed the demo to be so multi layered if it didn't have to do something with it all.

Ok ok. I feel it. It's been hard to keep up with the thread because how much it has blown up. Haha. This game is gonna be awesome, and this demo was amazing, that's all that matters really. Haha

Okay, I watched Patrick Klepek play through it.

Holy fucking shit. Most horror games manage to make me feel uneasy; this one made me downright scared of corners.

Couldn't fucking do it Gaf. game is too fucking scary with a head phone and lights off. gonna try it tomorrow during the day

Yeah, stuck at the last phone ring puzzle bs. The baby never cried for me. 10-steps method didn't work at all. I called it a day and deleted the "game".
