I wish they use this engine/graphic style in non Mario games.

with Nintendo's recent track record I don't have much faith in that unfortunately. the last world and boss will be kept under wraps, I'm sure, and there will almost assuredly be some post-game content so even if they blow the doors down with footage we'll still have some surprises.

I mean for 3D World we pretty much saw every level up until world 6 or 7 before it released

I'd be surprised if they didn't use that engine in other games. Nintendo isn't really known to build 12 different engines for their games (they aren't Squeenix). Actually, the Zelda engine is probably a modified version of the MK8 engine.

that's true. Hmm cant wait for the goods to come, like, say, a Sunshine remaster with these assets. It would fit Isle Delfino tremendously

Looks great!

I feel like I need to buy a new TV to properly display those colors so they really pop.
(I have an Samsung LCD from 2008 and am kinda hating it's indestructibility. ;) My friends kids have been close but no go, still chugging along like a champ. )

Are those bullshots?

Regardless, the game looks good and I am charmed!

Bullshots ain't in Nintendo vocabulary. Actually, screenshots (especially early screenshots), generally look worse than the final games (as they're supposed to).

Looking back at the 3D World screens id say no.

In that case, I can safely feel stunned 0_0

Also, you're right L~A. At least Hyrule Warriors looked rough when it was revealed, now it's quite pretty and looks more polished.

C'mon Nintendo, you cant delay the game and later show me a screen like this:

Any game with a mysterious train is a must for me.

Now, I have to go to a corner to cry.

While I know the game is delayed in Europe for 2015, is there a more definite release date for North America? 'Cause I'm wanting this game more than ever before....

Looks amazing, enjoyed the captain toad levels in sm3dw, very excited about having loads and loads of levels to play through.

Can't wait for this one! I immediately wanted a standalone game after playing the Toad levels in SM3DW, so I'm glad it happened. Don't like the delay, but what can you do?

The piranha plant shadow on the left looks like it's in the wrong spot. I guess it's for the one that's higher up, but it still looks off to me.

Minor details aside, this game looks fantastic and I'm really excited for it.

That shadow is being cast by the piranha plant on the right. The shadows on the track are faint, but apart from the tops of the tracks they are there. The shadow just cuts off the top of the piranha plant's head, though, instead of continuing on top of the cliff. The shadow for the plant of the left is there, but it's very faint. Maybe the faint shadows are being caused by the mine cart's lamp and toad's headlamp competing with the sun.

the big question is:

can Nintendo make a $49.99 retail game out of this??

or is this a minor, should-be-digital-on-eshop-only title disguised as AAA??

big question.

Hnnnnghh It looks so good! It definitely looks more detailed/vibrant than SM3DW. You can even see cloth texture on Toad's headband! Maybe since this is not a game as big and vast such as SM3DW, EAD used those resources available to add even better Pixar-esque loooking graphics and even more beautiful lighting to the game. I'm so looking forward to play this. I can't imagine all the crazy/genius puzzles we would found on this game by the wizards of EAD.

Why not? This game looks like it will have more and more varied gameplay than some other AAA games that people spend $60 on and it looks great.

Didn't they confirm it as a $40 game already?

That being said, what's our guess for when this comes out? Definitely by Thanksgiving?

I think MSRP was already spotted as being $39.99. I'm guessing it'll have a good length and some good replay value in difficult stamp/coin collecting.

But those screens are just amazing. EAD wizards.

Looks goood can wait to play it.

You know I'm still salty they delayed it in Europe.

Same, along with Pokémon Omega Ruby being a week later. Hell I am still salty about Kirby Dream Collection skipping Europe.

Are those bullshots?

Nintendo doesn't do bullshot.

Edit;

OT, dam these look great. This one looks straight out of that Polar Express movie.

That Shyguy is clearly a deep thinker wondering about this life and if he should stay on the train and get off at the end of the line and never return home.

when they ruin the Mario and Luigi series and the Paper Mario series. They might be halfway there.

Other than the tutorial Mario and Luigi Dream Team was pretty good, it's Paper Mario that was ruined by Sticker star.

They haven't. K-Mart has the game for $40 (and I think someone mentioned Newegg did as well), but other retailers have it mark to the standard $60.
