Boss Doggie

all my loli wolf companions are so moe
Please tell me there's a "reset stats/records" for versus stuff. I don't want to ruin my stats because of unlocking characters quickly in VS mode

At least he's not doing the "if I get x subscribers I'll extend the marathon for an hour" thing, is he?

because I remember this one MK8 stream that went to like 600+ hours, then they never streamed anything again apparently lmao

He's doing the "Attractive Asian girls, here's my e-mail. One at a time, please" thing.

No shame.

Dunno, when I checked last week he was trying pretty hard to drive subs. I think he was doing playing whatever characters subs requested, and did a really dumb dance party thing at like 100 subs or so. I remember him saying he'd play a set with M2K or make an early tier list if he hit 200 subs.

It's all kind of annoying, but nice to be able to pretty reliably have a high level Smash 4 stream going whenever I feel like watching.

I don't like Zero's stream to be honest.

Doesn't interact much, barely speaks, just go on doing his thing and too much useless bloat on the screen for my taste. And when he plays, he plays with his head down so the webcam is 100 % useless as well.

Like he's not even trying. It's literally a "Hehe I have Smash early and I'm good so give me money, pce".

Last few times Ive watched, he or Vex answered questions between matches. Been about a week though, so maybe things changed?

And I have personally never seen a point of streamer-cameras. I dont really care what people look like.

Also even if infinite combos get found out making someone broken we already know they'll get patched out in no time!

This is great, I'm happy Nintendo is already working to get those patches out ASAP. I wonder though, what is the mechanism for reporting these bugs? Is it through NoJ's call center or club nintendo?

Good question. Im assuming you can submit a ticket on the contact page and just chose Smash as the game.

No, but Melee will. /s
Melee (and hopefully Smash and Nintendo) will probably outlast all of us.
I often wonder if these guys think about their future and plan. Smash won't be around forever.
Most of the people making money from tournaments are probably smart enough that they can switch games later if they need to. Same for the people making money off of streaming games or making videos of games. Even if it's not much money, it's still probably nice to make a living doing something you enjoy so much. Still, I'd end up wanting something more stable eventually.

In the grim, post-apocalyptic future, humanity's biomechanical weta overlords will allocate the remainder of our dwindling resources based solely on the results of biannual Melee tournaments.

So, after trying my friend's japanese import of the game, I still can't stand the 3DS controls. I messed around with button layouts, but at the end of the day, even on the XL, it just feels really cramped and restrictive. I'm sure many will find no problem and others will just adapt, but I personally have to pass on it. It hurts even more because the game itself feels amazing and the characters are so satisfying. It's like being given an awesome, souped up sports car but you can only control it with typewriter.

Also, the tiny screen, while not game breaking, just lessens the experience. If you absolutely want smash on the go, it's good for that. But if you don't mind waiting for the Wii U version, I'd say just wait it out.

It's not the best way to make a living.

Well if you get proficient at it, it can be.

Look at LiRiK, a variety streamer. I think he made at least 600 $ in donations this morning alone, on top of subs. Of course he's not making bank like this everytime I watch him, but definitively way more than minimum wage on average.

But you have to engage your audience and generally be entertaining, so eh. I don't see Zero keeping this up once everyone has access to the game in 2-3 months.

Can you still wait if it's delayed to 2015?

Watch Da Birdie

I buy cakes for myself on my birthday it's not weird lots of people do it I bet
So, importers, how varied is the Mii Fighter customization? I haven't seen a list of all the costumes, but a few pics I saw looked pretty neat like that Woody one with the cowboy outfit.

Does anyone even use the Mii Fighter's competitively? Probably difficult to do at the moment with limited Friends.

Could have gone a lot worse.

Could have ended up with PSABR tournaments.

Sorry to hear it, man. I don't mind the feel of the 3ds toomuch, but I definitely can see it getting uncomfortable on long play sessions. I ordered a grip for my 3DS though, so I'm hoping it'll help. That should be coming in today, so we'll see if it makes much of a difference.

It's not entirely that it's uncomfortable, it's just that it doesn't feel very good. It's not broken or unplayable. For the system it's on, it's completely serviceable and it works. My point is more that, if you don't mind waiting and you don't need mobile smash, you are totally better off waiting. For everything other than being able to take it anywhere you want, 3DS will be the inferior version. After waiting so long to play smash, playing the 3DS version wasn't satisfying, despite the game itself being really good. Even if I had bought the 3DS version, I'd still feel like I didn't really have "Smash" yet.

I could see a grip going a long way to making it better, but the screen, resolution, and just overall presentation leaves so much to be desired, in my opinion. I'm a maximizer though, I want the best I can get. Your mileage may vary.

Yes.

I'm getting both since I love smash but I don't find any version to be inferior.

so uh

has anyone posted that evidently you can't control the rate of items spawning on 3DS other than turning them On/Off?

Did we know this already? I just found out on Reddit. Kind of lame. My friends and I like to play with items on Low from time to time. :/

485 hours, husband and wife duo
They streamed for a few days afterwards just because they probably felt obligated to do so and then they "went on vacation" and nobody has heard from them since.

It was 8 subscribers to add an hour. They started at 100 hours, so about 7,700 dollars worth of subscribers, and this is ignoring the constant stream of off-Twitch donations they were getting.

They very well could be set for the rest of the year just for playing Mario Kart for 25 days straight (not really, they alternated)

Probably a technical issue (for the higher end of the option). I'm going to assume the Wii U version will have the same settings we know and love.

I'm similar. Even if the Wii U version was out first, there will never be a (physical) (Nintendo-made) Smash game that I don't own (within my lifetime). Though I definitely consider one version inferior, just based on my own preferences.

Oh yeah, I'd probably agree with that. I'm getting it because having Smash on the go in really appealing, but yeah, Wii U is the main attraction for me. God, with how good this feels on a 3DS, having a gamecube controller is going to be euphoria.

Wait, is there really no option to control item frequency? I liked low-item matches...

I'm pretty sure the wii u version will allow rate switching at least since they did as much in the e3 invitational

It's honestly going to be like taking weights off your back. I'm so pumped.

I figured as much, and I'm sure it's for hardware limitations, but I don't see why the option to tone down the amount of items isn't there at all. The frequency they spawn in the demo is a bit much IMO.

This is a good point, the tournament had different item settings. So it's pretty clear it's returning for the Wii U.

I think a lot of the 3DS version's shortcomings will be fixed with the Wii U. (low stage count, low music count, scaled back classic, lack of item switch variables, no special battles, no target test)

Yeah if that's your preference that's fine and I understand. But some people post it's inferior like its a fact.
