What a huge downgrade.
That happens in quite a few games. I know on PC there are a number of games that don't limit the framerate while in menus, and this can cause the framerate to skyrocket into the multiple hundreds. I wonder if the same thing is happening with some console games, and the unlocked framerate means that the menus will just push the APU to its limits?

The city is amazing.
From the rooftops and while walking in the streets, the amount of detail and atmosphere are great.
Crowd pop in is stupid tho'.
Can't tell of serious.

Yeah, the problem is that it dips below 30.

You know what's even worse than the pop-in?
That Ubisoft looked at the way the NPCs move out of Arno's way in close-quarters and decided, "yep, that looks good; not offensively gamey or stupid looking whatsoever".
In a game with largely great animation, it has the subtlety of a thousand bowling balls careening through a warehouse of neon coloured pins.

So is it a good game or is it AC3 tier?
Overall? Definitely not a disaster like AC3. Until now its very much like ACB - for me. Might even be my new favourite in the end.

It's a contender for best AC game, and worst performing AC game, yet most graphically impressive AC game.
It's fantastic and atmospheric.
They do it every year apparently. They've always been positively received despite the release day embargo.

Dam that's late as hell for release day, usually it's 9.
I really want this game, I haven't missed an ac at release yet:/ but these tech problems are too much. It's even harder since I'm about to hit up target for the buy 2 get 1.

AC3 was an awesome game, my favorite in the series. Played it for 36 hours, the first 6 hours are really, really bad, but the rest is great. Perhaps a little bit too ambitious.

This is far and away the best AC game imo.
Some technical issues bring it down a bit... but damn, it's fun. Animation and control changes are really really welcomed and look great. Combat is pretty damn fun too. Unlike Black Flag, omg that was such crap. But this is actually good.

Performance issues aside, the new parkour system is terribly finicky on PC with mouse and keyboard.
The biggest issue is that the environment is very hard to read - you can't always predict how Arno willl interact with any given surface. When you're doing fast traversal across the city, it's great, because you don't really care if you grab the windowsill or the ledge a few foot to the left, as long as you keep momentum. This, combined with the lack of roof guards, makes parkouring across the city much more fun than previous games.
But the moment you try to finesse yourself into position, it's absolutely aggravating.
For example, in your first assassination inside
, you can wall jump between some of the pillars but two don't let you walljump or parkour down at all, even though they look the same as all the others. You can climb up inside one of the alcoves, but not back down the other side.
I'm wondering if the problem is the level design - maybe they didn't 'flag' similar surfaces properly so the parkour interactions are so oddly inconsistent.

All games OUTPUT 1080p. Doesn't mean it's native 1080p.

Did anyone play while the game actually finished installing? I think FPS is worst until the later end of Versailles, around which point the install should be done. After that I don't see any major issue.

Yeah, it's rendered in 900p and then upscaled to 1080p.

No, it outputs in 1080p. So does the Xbox One version. They are not talking about rendering resolution. Both systems have scalers.

It was just weird, "if you want you can try it out right now" well - no. Because the mission is nowhere to be seen lol

So many visual glitches, not just the pop in or framerate but missing textures, clipping, weird visual items you can see through walls, facial animation issues and more.
