Would you buy Killzone 2 & 3 Remastered for PS4?

The Killzone Collection with Killzone, KZ2, KZ3, and KZ:M all at 1080/60...

That would be something I would purchase in a heartbeat

People should stop referencing data that makes me feel uncomfortable because games get ported to platforms I don't like
2, yes
3, no
This but only for the Multiplayer because while the story was a technical spectical to be witnessed I didn't care for Rico's constant swearing and I was disappointed in Jan Templars's fate.

Kz2 hell yes. It was the best FPS MP i have ever played by a long shot. Would preorder £100 edition lol

Kz3 MP was basically a dumbed down kz2 and stripped of featured. You can even say it got the COD treatment in a bad way.

KZSF had a joke of a MP. Only fun i had with that is playing competitive scrims with nearly everything banned because it was cheap, but that gets boring fast as you play kz for its gunplay and abilities. But what can you when the abilites are so cheap. The season pass content took 7 months to come out and the clan system over a year. Atrocious game. If kz wasnt on the box you wouldn't even guess its a kz game.

No, probably not. I might to dabble in KZ2 MP again but then again I never really liked how the controls felt. I own all the KZ games, but outside of Mercenary on Vita I've never really thought I was playing anything great when going through them.

No, I think I've had enough of that franchise. Same happens to me with Halo, maybe the games don't have anything surprising for me anymore, maybe I'm bored and I want new IPs for new consoles.

If there was a collection for a good price, yeah. As separate remasters, I could not do it though KZ2 and Liberation were fantastic.

KZ2 in 1080/60 .. absolutely!

Imagine above in 1080/60 :)

KZ2 and God of War 3 are the two best looking games on the PS3. I still can't put my finger on it, but KZ2 looks somehow better and more impressive than KZ3 for me.

KZ2 forever <3

KZ3 disappointingly lowered the OBMB to almost imperceptible levels. Making some things that looked like CGI, look horrible in comparison in KZ3.

For instance ISA dropships landing and taking off in KZ2 vs KZ3 is like night and day. Looks so much better in 2.

I hoped for a patch for the longest time, but it never came.

As a big fan of KZ2 who played hundreds of hours of MP and even got the platinum trophy, and someone who didn't like KZ3 at all (SP and MP) I'd say no.

KZ2 was great, and I love that game. But frankly there are better MP games for me out there and I really don't have the time to replay KZ2 campaign.

The least said about KZ3 the better.

It's such a shame that a series with such great aesthetics, lore, art, setting and graphics can be so uneven when it comes to gameplay. I think if Guerrilla kept making the game they wanted to make instead of following the last trend or what is popular right now KZ would have been more successful. The first step on that direction was when they changed KZ2 "heavy" control style to something more similar to COD.

Contrary to the general opinion in gaming. I like HD remakes. With the new consoles not being backwards compatible not only would I want last gen remakes but I wish we could get some of the PS2 era games remade again (i.e. Jak & Daxter Collection, Devil May Cry Collection, God of War collection, Splinter Cell collection, Prince of Persia collection, Team ICO collection, etc.).

I do hate low quality ports. I wish I could have all the hits of last gen at 1080p / 60fps with touched up textures etc. All the DLC built in, etc.

Gosh I hate people's thirst for remasters.

I really don't understand this type of logic. I really don't. Other types of art age well. A painting painted in 1492 when Columbus sailed the ocean blue is going to look the same now as it did then, assuming no damage has been done to it. A song written by the greatest band in the world, Tool, will sound as good as it does now 20 years from now.

Most games on the other hand don't age well. Games with stylistic graphics do. Things like critter crunch, pacman, valiant hearts, these are games that will never look bad. Games with more realistic graphics age worse because the assets aren't high resolution, including the textures. Remastering old games, while keeping their original spirit keeps them alive for a longer time. I love shadow of the colossus but would have never gone back to play it because unfortunately the graphics are disgusting to me on the ps2, but I did play the remaster and it was awesome.

There's nothing wrong with remasters as it keeps these great games alive. If you don't want to play a game again or don't like the remastered game don't play it, but try to understand that they do serve a purpose. It's not just a cash grab, it's keeping the games alive for a longer period of time.

There are very few games I could be equally uninspired by.

It's on PS3 already, they aren't particularly classic, they aren't particularly notable. So no, just let them be. Leave Killzone alone. Maybe revisit it one day in 10 years time.

Uhhh its kinda bogus to slam SF for being "cheap" when so many matches of KZ2 turned into rocket spam contests.

For the record tho, I liked KZ2 MP a lot, but a lot of people seem to be remembering it through rose-tinted nostalgia.

The controls were difficult and the framerate was often on the shit end of 20fps as well.

The perfect combo IMO would be:

KZ3 controls and melee
KZ2 weight/movement speed and maps.

Oh yeah, back to the OT. Yes I would buy it in a heartbeat, KZ2 still looks friggin good even by todays standards.

Why? Remasters are great.

As a movie lover this to me is like someone saying "I hate that there will be a Jurrassic Park 4K Bluray! Why can't people be happy with their damn VHS!?"

For one.

I have a rather large entertainment center, but not room enlighten o keep all my consoles plugged in. If I want to play all of the Halo games through, or all of the Uncharted games or Killzone games, I should be able to wihout digging out new hardware.

For two.

New fans shouldn't have to buy old hardware to get into a series. Not all PS4 owners ever had Ps3's. In fact, many many of them only had 360's. So they didn't get to play these games the first time around. Should they just be forced to miss out on these games? Or should they be forced to miss out on future games in the series because they couldn't get caught up on the storyline?

Three.

Artists and programmers are always pushing he limits of hardware. And an artists work is never done. Remasters give the opportunity for games to be played closer to their original vision.

In fact, after recently playing through Halo 2 Annivwrssary, I have an entirely new appreciation for the title. I feel like it finally is the game Bungie would have wanted it to be back then.( minus the obvious cut portions).

The artwork, the vistas, the storyline, all more impactful this time around with higher fidelity. Where as before it was my least favorite Halo. It is now up there with my favorites.

Four.

If you don't like it. Don't buy it?

I think Guerrilla was in a tough spot tho. After KZ2, many people were criticizing the game for having slow, laggy controls, so in an effort to "fix" that issue, they made KZ3, which people then trashed for losing the unique "weight" to movement and aiming. Kind of a no-win situation for Guerrilla.

Killzone 2 was awesome. Killzone 3 was good but not great.

Multiplayer in Killzone 2 to this day is still amazing. I remember wasting hours into it.

I don't mind a remaster but i wish Guerrila Games made a Killzone like Killzone 2, gritty, punchy, well animated and fun.

No. No, I would not.

I remember when Remasters were collections and it had been a LONG time since some of them had been out, and there weren't many of them... now we're remastering games the minute the original ships to retailers.

I don't care much for 3, but I'd be all over a Killzone 2 Remaster with multiplayer and all DLC packs included.

But seeing the post-KZ2 output of Guerrilla Games, they'd probably do something stupid. Like do anything to the controls. Or add more seperate DLC.

GG, if you are going to do a Killzone 2 Remaster, then please, for the love of god, DON'T CHANGE ANYTHING ABOUT THE CONTROLS OR MECHANICS AND KEEP EVERYTHING EXACTLY LIKE IT WAS ON THE PS3. And don't go about adding additional maps or classes or changing perks or any of that bullshit. Don't change the matchmaking / server structure. Don't change how the menus look. Don't add new maps or classes as additional DLC packages. Actually, just don't change or add anything at all. All I want is Killzone 2, exactly as it was on PS3, with all of its DLC, just polished up with higher resolution assets / higher resolution / more stable framerate.

Nah, I played 2, 3 and Shadow Fall and I find them so boring, had a little fun with 2's multiplayer but that's about it, not for me.

Problem with series is input lag and weight of movement.

I grow old waiting for the character to do something when I press a button or move.

Inertia / realistic / weight etc bah blah I don't care, its crap loose it and make a responsive shooter GG.

I really tried to like shadow fall, but compared to say Destiny it just feels like controlling garbage through treacle.

Not even the smallest of possibilities. I think this is by far the more overhyped franchise @ Sony.

Comfortably. I know that opinions differ etc. but it honestly boggles my mind that anybody could think Killzone 2 is one of the best FPS games ever made. I always use it a bit like that 'you can tell who only owned a Gamecube by whether they think Burnout 2 is the best Burnout', to tell who only owned a PS3 you ask them their opinion on KZ2.

Nah.

I owned a 360, Wii, and a gaming PC before I ever bought a PS3.

Killzone 2 is literally one of the best FPS games ever made.

The graphics, art, atmosphere, game mechanics, AI, enemy encounters, difficulty, multiplayer, bots, chirp, options, etc. It all comes together to be an absolutely amazing package.

Even the story is pretty okay. You're supposed to hate Rico.

I wouldn't. I played through KZ2 and barely made it to the end, didn't like it that much. Consensus seems to indicate KZ3 is not the better game so I skipped it. Reviews/GAF hasn't been kind to KZ:SF so I'll probably skip that too.

What I've played of Mercenary so far has been fun so either bring that to PS4 or have Cambridge work on a new PS4 KZ to release in 2016.

Move Guerrilla to a new IP/Genre. I don't think they're very good at FPS design.

I'd argue the opposite actually, I think Guerrilla's FPS design is absolutely amazing. Everything about the games aside from the story is top shelf in my opinion.

Is this real life? Generic FPS mini-arenas spotted with cover that enemies filter into in groups, bullet sponge baddies that are a chore to kill, the most generic, boring weapon selection in an FPS game that I can think of, and a control scheme that mimicks realism by making you move like an arthritic sexagenarian.

Again, it is simply baffling to me that anybody who has played more than two or three FPSes thinks this is one of the best ever made. If I was being generous I'd call Killzone 2 'solid'.

Post's like this make it easy to tell when someone hasn't played the games >_>

Well, it's baffling to me that anyone would call the KZ2 weapons boring, or not recognize the excellence of the AI, or think the enemies are bullet sponges, or not mention the amazing art direction. But what's really worse is how you think so much of yourself that anyone who has a different opinion must be a noob that doesn't play video games.

I've played 2 and Shadowfall, which I'm told are the best in the series.

Then you're either being purposefully quipy, or extremely biased.

Bullet sponge enemies? Really? Boring weaponry? You literally took some of the most generic criticisms that have no bearing on this particular franchise whatsoever.

The series has literally award winning A.I., the graphics are best in class, the weapons sound meaty, menacing, have fantastic recoil, and are quite diverse is purpose. Nail guns, turrets, napalm streams, multi-rocket launchers with secondary/alternative fires, and the series in 3 supported move controls (which by the way were some of the best implemented motion controls to date). People fawn endlessly over the multi-player, and the series taken as a whole has been fantastic.

Because you don't like something doesn't make it bad.
