Oh damn, really? You're sure about this?

Hmmm....

Am I correct to say that SLI 980GTX will not run this game on 60fps Ultra settings?

As I said earlier, the gamestar article lists the specs of the PC - using a single gtx980, and they said it was running at high, very smoothly, but that ultra word work on the same system. We already know that ultra presets do add quite a few features so the single gtx980 can't be being taxed too much at high. If it runs at ultra on a single card, no doubt there would be no issue in sli, assuming sli profiles release with the game

Hey guys totally of topic but I M buying a 4k TV soon and even though no games will be running at that resolution, will I see any improvements on the picture displayed on the TV?

No. TV-wise, the only difference you may see could be input delay. I'm not sure how 4K tv's handle input response, so it might be better or worse. Visually there shouldn't be any advantage to running a 4K tv.

Haha on the GOG stream just now:

"NEXT GEN GOATS! Next gen everything! You can kill them for leather, which you use for crafting!"

I hope monsters still fight each other like in TW2, been replaying it yet again and while fighting the endrega queen a horde of neckers joined in and made my life much easier because they were drawing the queen's attention away from me. Love when stuff like that happens.

Main takeaway from that video and the map is this looks like it'll have a ton of towns and villages scattered around unlike other games that just make 6 or 7 cities and call it a day.

Just watched the video. The dialogue sequences look great. Not all that impressed by the actual gameplay or the graphical prowess during gameplay. Most of all I just want that horrible LOD pop-up gone. I understand that it won't look as hot as a more linear game will in terms of textures, foliage and image quality, though I'm still a bit bummed out that it doesn't look like the initial trailers (perhaps on ultra). I'm cool with that if the game itself provides a rich and interesting world to explore.

I knew that face looked familiar.

Thanks for the reply I guess I'll hold off buying a 4k TV any time soon

Really good trailer. I would love to play this game if the combat is similar to Souls series. Is it real time action or turn based? Love the Souls series and combat in it and usually I like playing action/adventure RPGs. So would I like this gaf?

It moves quite a bit faster and plays a lot differently. Try to get W2 for cheap and see if you like how it plays.

The combat is not as deep as the souls series, however the game is not as focused on combat as the souls series. It's very story and quest driven. Super excellent though. I'd recommend getting Witcher 2 if you have a PC that can run it. It regularly goes on Steam sales for under $5.

Combat is very different from Souls.

Sprint speed is higher than I expected, that's good though.

Is it just me or these shots are flat out The Witcher 2 tier? I feel the only thing that improved sensibly are faces and character models. But that shot where he is on the horse is just... ugly, knowing we are talking about TW3. Maybe those are on lowest settings?

Thanks for the replies guys...Faster combat sounds good to me. As long as its not turn based where you pause and play. I like real time where I am in control of the moves 1 to 1. If thats how it plays and has a good story I am in. Unfortunately don't have a PC to try W2, so I have to go in based on gaf's recommendation :).

They are from the b-roll footage.

The preview event was played on "High" so I doubt they would release anything lower than "High" to the attending previewers.

I find it slightly amusing that they are saying they respect Bioware now. I remember around the time Witcher 2 came out the developers often made disrespectful jabs at the Dragon Age series. Not that Dragon Age 2 did not deserve said disrespect.

I'm damn hyped. I hope the world is somewhat calm. DA:I world is kind of overly busy with stuff at times. I want some calm travel times with nice music and beautiful environments. Then when action does happen, it becomes more exciting.

I like the walking/running animation compared to say Black Flag. Way too many hud elements though, hopefully they'll be able to be toggled off individually on all platforms, something Black Flag did right.

So it ran at a solid 60 fps. (high settings)

So basically, if a single 980GTX runs at 60fps (per 3Djuegos) on high, it will run the same performance at Ultra, right?

Fucking Youtube compression. Is this something to be improved on from CDPR's end? There's far better quality videos out there.

Edit: Just noticed the link in OP wasn't from CDPR, their own upload is much improved.

Lets get some snow sound effects for the footprints. One of the most satisfying sounds in any RPG.

Very nice collection of clips, definitely seeing the appeal here. My only concern now in terms of design is how small the subtitles are on that video, at least just viewing on my TV.

I know it's quite nitpick but I always need to use subtitles and the text was really small for me. Hoping the size can be adjusted on consoles, getting this for PS4.

I agree, this was something a game like Skyrim also did right.

Bioware's take on Ubiosoft's open-world philosophies.

PC or PS4?

Even if you can't max out the PC version, it can be had for cheaper and will be better for subsequent replies after hardware upgrades. Also, hardware that is capable of running games at higher fidelity levels than the consoles is not exactly prohibitively expensive at the moment.

PS4 will give you trade in value if you are interested in that.

They said on the twitch stream that there is a HUD configurator, so some degree of customizability should be present. I hope we could choose transparency too.

Ultimately, we won't know before the game is out. However, if we consider that a) the PS4 version already runs at 1080p on high settings @ 30fps and b) a GTX 980 is significantly faster than either console GPU, then I really don't see any problem of running the game on ultra with a GTX 980 (bar the really expensive stuff like Ubersampling, of course).
