For those that have played this game, do I need headphones and mic to play this game? Or can I enjoy it without excessive strategizing?

You can play it fine without a headset.. you can give basic commands with the pad.

up: YES
down: NO
left: STAY
right: MOVE

Just watched the Game Informer video, it looks like a lot of fun. I'll probably pick it up tonight. I can't bring myself to indulge in any AAA before Bloodborne

Have not been following, but it looks too co-op dependent for my liking/situation. Didn't realize it was exclusive.

Would most likely play on Vita, but I'm passing for now.

here is another Vita vid, He does 2 3 and 4 people at the same time. There is some slowdown but nothing near the "unplayable" comments. May go for it. I think if you play this on a PS4 and then go right to the Vita you will have some major system shock for sure. Again, depends on your tolerance for this stuff.

Watching first video in the Gamespot review. This looks AMAZING You can tell the friendly fire really adds something to how you play the game and work together.

This is cross-play with the other platforms too?? So PS3 can play with PS4?

Exactly! It's awesome. Friendlyfire is an important aspect of the game.

No reason for bashing The Order in an unrelated thread. And an "embarrassment"? No. But opinions and all that.

Anyways, glad this is finally coming AND is reviewing so well- will be picking it up for sure! Keep them coming indie devs!

All this on its own makes Helldivers a hugely entertaining experience, but Arrowhead went one step further by making the entire game a vast collaborative community effort. See, every mission you successfully undertake earns Influence, and Influence is pooled by every player online. The more players complete their goals, the more this Influence grows and the more territories are secured on the galactic map. The overall objective is to take territory over, sector by sector, and forge a path to the three alien homeworlds belonging to the Bugs, Illuminate, and Cyborgs. Once the homeworld is reached, players are advised to attack that key planet by undertaking tough missions on its surface, all in a bid to earn enough Influence needed to completely take it over and remove that race from the galaxy.

Oh weird. Never heard anyone wanting to use an arcade stick for this. That would actually be pretty cool if they had an alternate control scheme for it.

I watch a few vita videos and the frame rate seemed ok but that would have been off screen wouldn't it? Also, can this play on PSTV?

As its cross play could I use my one purchase to play on ps4 and my wife play the same purchase on PS3 together? I assume not but thought I would ask.

If the Vita version really plays badly, I could see myself playing my PS4 copy remotely through my Vita while someone else is playing my PS3 copy...

Oh wait, local co-op

THIS GAME!!!

Seriously, my mind is blown right now, I hope this sets a new precedent...
