Are there any comments in this issue of Edge about the music in Bloodborne?
Is the general consensus that this game will be easier or more user friendly for players that never really got into demon souls?

I think if you can't get into Dark Souls or Demons Souls it's not gonna be your cup of tea. The games share a lot of design similarities. I played the alpha and I was impressed with how hard it was. I expect they have tuned back the difficulty for release, but it will still be tough, I assume. My advice is play Demons Souls with a guide and see if that helps you get into it. If you like it that way, then try Dark Souls blind or move onto BB.

That game seems just as difficult, but it might be somewhat easier to approach in terms of obtuse mechanics etc. I think if you didn't like Demon's you probably won't be into this either.
On the other hand, I'd recommend giving Demon's or Dark another try if you have the games already. These games can take a while (5 hours or more) to "click". If you did give it a good try, then pay me no mind!
Somewhat amusingly, it kinda makes me wonder how much shorter a Souls playthrough would be without the repetition?
Once you get proficient at the game the repetition goes away. I can casually do a run through dark souls 1 in under 6 hours.
Nothing that I saw. It was mostly focused on gameplay and the city.
I've pre-ordered the game, but I'm worried if it's a mistake. I love the series audiovisual design, even more so now that's it's gone towards horror, but I've only played Demon's Souls briefly when it became available via PS+. The challenging combat wasn't a problem, but the repetition that followed failure. The extent this one will have of the same is what I'm worried about. The article was really positive. How did it turn this thread into a concern trolling shitfest?
Talk about selective reading...
in the 18 minute ign video. There is a doll which is lying there. When you press X it says 'just a doll'
Bloodborne producer said it is a big part of the game.
Is the doll related to the new mechanic?
Ah, I understand. For what it's worth, I think Dark Souls open world design + bonfires made it feel less repetitious than Demon's "stages". You keep chipping away until you find the next bonfire, but they tend to be closer together than the full stages in Demon's.
MGS though!GOTY...
Less than two weeks.. Hyped! Now that U4 is gone
So, there's hope, that it won't be as repetitive. Although, there'll be less lantern checkpoints than there were bonfires in Dark Souls, which doesn't sound like a plus to me. I'd really like to know before I buy the game, that how many enemy waves I have to go through again after each time I'm defeated. The needless repetition grew old very quickly for me in Demon's Souls.
I don't think you'll like Bloodborne.
How helpful.

I don't think you'll like Bloodborne because you will have to repeat sections when you die.
I think the only thing to say is wait a bit after release to figure out if the game is for you. None of us played the game so your guess is as good as ours in regard to the enemy. So, there's hope, that it won't be as repetitive. The previous poster offered information about the bonfires in Dark Souls, which was a change from Demon's Souls. I'm hoping, that someone who played the alpha could say how much there's repetition compared to Demon's Souls, and how far between the lantern checkpoints are compared to the bonfires.

I played the alpha. All of the alpha revolves around one lantern point basically (we know the lantern placements from the demo shown a few weeks ago). The number of enemies between the shortcut unlocks is more than the average number you'll fight between bonfires in Dark Souls.
I've only played Demon's Souls, so how does the number of repeated enemy waves compare to that?
The number of enemies between shortcut unlocks might be equal to something like all of Shrine of Storms 4-1.
That doll is right here
Heh, that doesn't say anything to me. I only played Demon's Souls for few hours, until the Red Eye Knight. IIRC, I had to face 7-9 enemy waves again after being defeated by him.
Is this out in two weeks? PS4 buy.
