Destiny House of Wolves Reveal Thread

What? I assumed Comet would comprise the next two expansion packs. I mean, that's what Comet is, right? Expansion 3 and expansion 4.

This is what we 'know'.

This is already wrong though... Plans have changed already since whenever that was shown... If Comet does not have as much or more content than Destiny did on Day 1 then I don't see how they can charge full price for it.

I expect the roadmap to be correct, no in terms of dates (obviously) but in terms of how many packs they want to put out.

I've not been keeping up, have Bungie dropped the ball....yet again? Can't even deliver patches or maybe the DLC on the promised dates?

The incompetence just keeps on showing.

With the way DLC has been priced so far I can't expect anything but the full RRP for comet, anything less will be a surprise.

I wonder if the rumored 12 missions in comet will continue on from the main story or be a branch off like the DLC and just be it's own little story, which is not what I want.

If this Comet shit is full price it better have entirely new locations, I'll say that much.

They had to delay the 1.2 patch due to some bugs they found at the last minute. They haven't missed any deadlines.

Woah woah Bungie defense activated, I thought you guys had figured if you didn't want to see Destiny or Bungie being judged then maybe hop on back to the safety of the OT? I'm not going to sugar coat my opinion of them for you. This "expansion pack" is going to be lazy like the last.

How is it not incompetence to announce a patch release then delay it last minute, it does bring up question about the potential state of the DLC if they're finding issues in a patch last minute like this.

We will know more after today's weekly update.

Really hope it's not delayed as I scheduled off work for it.

I again ask what you are looking to accomplish with these posts? With the way that games have been getting launched broken I will take any fixes before a patch is sent out.

It should be noted that Destiny's launch was incredibly smooth.

Delaying a major expansion like this would be quite extraordinary for them.

How can Bungie be incompetent to delay a patch? The current game isn't even broken, they just wish to continue to improve the game for their millions of players. They are looking at it from a quality perspective and don't want to turn an unbroken game into a broken game.

It was a genuine question, whether you like it or not. Am I really going to have to explain myself to you? Is this how you go about a discussion, just jump on a poster and accuse them of trolling, sigh.

The game is unbroken now maybe, there's been plenty of bugs in the game since release. Has everyone forgotten the heavy ammo bug already? That was pure incompetence for that bug to take so long to notice then for them to fix.

Since 343 is not including Firefight with the ODST update, I think I may buy this expansion. I know most of the problems I have with Destiny will still be there, but I need to scratch that Firefight/Horde itch.

None of my friends plays Destiny anymore, but hopefully a couple of them will return for HoW. Gonna feel weird to come back after a 6 month hiatus.

The questions were fine. The "the incompetence keeps on showing" put people on the defensive and was completely unnecessary. Like you were already declaring that without knowing the answers to your questions.

They will remember how much awesomeness they weren't playing ;)

I pop in Destiny, and always hooked for an extended amount of time.

This is exactly what got me posting. I must be getting old as every thread seems to me to devolve so quickly.

I don't see Comet being over $40. Maaayybe $45. Regardless of how much content it has in relation to the first two expansions, it's not a whole new game. They're not going to charge $60 for it unless they're bundling the next expansion pass with it.

I dunno...activision is probably chomping at the bit trying to figure out how to increase profits on a game most people play for three plus hours at a time. I'm almost holding my breath waiting to see how they mess this up. Micro transaction exotic endgrams, overpriced dlc, a monthly fee...something's gotta be in the works.

I think even Activision realizes there's no way to justify charging the same price as a full game without it being a full game's worth of extra content. Considering the fact that we only might be getting one other planet with Comet, there's no way they go all the way up to $60.

I think it will probably be 30 bucks, or the price of the expansion pass.

They'll maybe do Comet + next 2 expansions for $60....I'd buy it. I'd buy almost anything. It has it's hooks in me deep.

The problem is that after you asked a question, you reacted as though your suspicion was confirmed.

The incompetence just keeps on showing.

If you were just asking a question for information sake, that is what you would've done. Instead, you pretended you received a confirmation to your question, and then threw out an insult.

This makes people think you weren't asking a question, but were instead just looking for another reason to throw a dig at the developer.

It also gives you an easy scapegoat when you get called on it. Hiding behind a question mark...

Edit: It's also worth noting that less than 24 hours after the patch was delayed, Bungie posted about the House of Wolves release still being May 19th. So while a patch was delayed (big deal, this happens all the time) the expansion has not.

I want to believe what you are saying very much so. But anything that starts with "I think even Activision realizes there's no way to justify charging" is probably incorrect.

If it really is a "comet" they can't charge $60 or else they have to charge more for Destiny 2. It's pretty simple.

lol no. Your post was antagonizing. Don't come in here to play the victim.

Lol true.

Basically. If they charge $60 for Comet, they're pretty much going to have to call it Destiny 2 and it will have to carry all the expectations that come with that.

As an upgrade, sure, 40 dollars digital. Tops.

Physical release will be 60 dollars and include the base game like Reaper of Souls did (and maybe DLC, like a GOTY edition). Destiny has been hovering around 30 dollars way too frequently, which means they're trying to get ready for a refresh.

In bungiee's eyes having three new sub classes is most likely worth $20 because they will say you can play over the same content again but now with a different grenade and jump type!

A $60/£45 comet release imo would be a retail disc with the original content included, then some kind of DLC pack for those with the game already.

If it is lazy it won't sell. I'm a pretty big destiny fan and I won't be pre ordering comet or day 1ing it unless it gets some glowing praise from gaf or reviewers.

GD Destiny threads bring out the haters like absolutely nothing else.

What, exactly are you trying to accomplish here?

I think that's totally plausible/likely for the physical version.

i think they can charge 60 because it could also be a goty edition including all previous content and the base game in the retail release. but also have a $40 digital upgrade for the extra content of current owners.
