Insider can be anyone who saw or heard something first hand. this does not automatically have to be someone in a high position, who is interested in the success of the project. maybe he feels more value in causing some fear and loathing all for himself in a forum, and after that watching the waves running through the web.

Also, while some leaks are fun, honestly in this particular game's case given the ups and downs and it's long disappearance and many believing it's dead, I hope it doesn't get spoiled so that it could make everyone lose their minds whenever it finally re-emerges at one of these conferences because no one will believe what they are seeing on the screen, the tears of joy will be real.
Can't wait for when 2375 comes and they'll have to make a new gif for TLG.

I thnk Scott Rohde commented on it last year about still being in development while Shu saying something in 2013 about it still being a work in progress. This year the trademark expired I believe and people thought it was finally dead but Sony again confirmed it was still a WIP.
