And the first stage in the video is the dreaded volcano stage.I like how they're using a PS3 stick for demo purposes too
I didn't want to make the call because all the floors look a little soupy in the video, I'm thinking video compression can do that, but I definitely had the same impression. This game should have 16xAF and 8XMSAA, but no, instead there are jaggies everywhere and low AF, farless any improvement to textures at all from the last PC release.I see no AF on the video. Go fullscreen and look at the second to last fight (vs Dudley). I see no AF there. OK, maybe there is a bit, but it looks bad, definitely not x16.
This looks like a pretty shitty quality port, like bare minimum stuff.
It's so bad you can even see it through the YouTube shit bitrate filter.Don't really see how you can say that here.
So it's the stick support plug and play? not like MKX?
Looks like it works like MKX,guess i'll be using my PS3 to play local matches since i don't own two DS4.So it's the stick support plug and play? not like MKX?

This trend of so many poor remasters and cross gen games is more than ridiculous at this point. All the consoles could handle this game at 1080p with improvements to visuals and much better IQ, what we're getting here is beyond disappointing in the circumstances, the power is there to use but it's clearly not being used.

People judging games from footage on the Internet is insane. It's never gonna look as good as you actually playing the game without it compressing the video.

That's pretty much where I'm coming from. I now have a PS4 instead of a 360, stopped playing the game back in the AE days, and never bought any DLC. I'll be content basically with just all that stuff.I don't give a shit if they did nothing to the visuals as long as theres no input lag or delay and the netcode is at least as good as the xbox version.

I assume that actually improving the netcode, reworking a bit is unreasonable to expect? Yeah, probably wishful thinking. They would market it as a big feature if that was the case.
Bummer thanks for the quick reply
Everyone I know said online for PS3 was shit. PC was also shit but apparently it has been patched lately and greatly improved. Some have implied it's better on PC than Xbox 360 currently. I don't know if thats true or not.
I just hope it's at LEAST as good as 360.
Anything would look better than what we have here, (which is no AA). SMAA 2TX, HRAA, 4xMSAA with TAA, 8XMSAA pretty much any solution would be fine by me, but NO, just like DOA-LR we get this. We have more complex games visually on the PS4 with 16x AF but not this. Dark Souls 2 has 16x and the worlds are huge, even the crappy RE-R2 port has 16x AF. I don't understand how doing 16xAF on a 2.5D stage with two characters is missing good AA and AF, even if you're the worse dev on earth, it's still mind boggling that this can't be accomplished.Yeah, the game should run much better than that. I wonder what framerate would it run at if they unlock it in its current state. At least 8x AF would be great and the jaggies... ugh
If you 8xMSAA like you stated, at least mix SMAA with 2xMSAA... or something. Everything except for maybe ps3 leves FXAA would be better that nothing.
Nobody, all that was asked was some improvements to textures, maybe higher resolution, improvements to effects and some good IQ. It seems some people believe that's too much to ask of devs. There's work where you can see that a dev worked hard and probably burned the midnight oil, others, not so much. The quality of your work will always define you and prove you out.Shin-Ra said:Who said anything about recreating game assets?
We're on the same page here, it's not like anyone is asking the devs to go beyond the beyond, just a simple AF implementation and check some AA in. I am really saddened that so many are always willing to accept these type of efforts as no big deal, because if we do they will continue to happen. Remasters this gen have been awful by and large and we need to say something.FunkyLounge said:Of course, the compression is a major factor and even the gamersyde-level footage is not exactly what you see first hand. But you can make some general assumptions on the very basic things such as AF or AA.
That being said, I care about those things, because I love the game. I will most definitely buy it day one and will have hours and hours of fun with it. That's why I discuss and criticise these things. Because I care and want the best version. It will not deeply affect my enjoyment of the game, I (and many others) just feel like they could have done a much better job. It becomes even more apparent when the things we see are a bigger trend in current gen remasters.
That's my take anyways
Maybe we should allow them a patch or three before judging!I find it hard to believe conclusions can be made about the port being subpar before the game is out.
or simply wait until you have the game your self before judging.Maybe we should allow them a patch or three before judging!
It's amazing how Capcom can brainwash people into buying the same game over 6 times.

I'm wondering what the player base is going to look like after a few months. I can see many PS3 players migrating to the PS4 version, but I'm not sure about the 360 players. Should be interesting to see.

yeah it would be neat to see more folks release games on Friday or Sunday like Nintendo does.
Technically, it'd be the first and a half time for me. I went half with my brother on Ultra for PC.
It's hard to believe but there's plenty of people that bought every iteration and update for Street fighter IV.
But it has all the costumes

I did, mostly. The only versions I missed were the 360 ones. Granted, I didn't have to pay full price for most of them, but I still bought them. And then I went and put in countless hours online and offline, either in training mode, or at locals, or just getting my ass whupped like the scrub I am online.
The return on investment has been pretty high for me.
It's because it's a competitive game ...so any little change can be significant . Imagine how much basketball would change if traveling was now 3 steps instead of 2 . A 2 frame change can be the difference between safe and unsafe ..a win and a loss .. but that is going to be for the real hardcore players ....like me !!! (or at least I'm trying to be :-( )
The last Street Fighter game I bought was Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo Remix for the PS3.
I've always preferred the old Street Fighters, but I didn't mind EX 3D series.
so that being said, how do these new SF games play?....they look different, fireballs look slow..spacing and hit detection looks different.
Although EX looked different and was 3D, gameplay still seemed to me similar to the older series.
anyway I'm mainly getting this game because my coworker plays, and I'd love to whoop her arse..but she plays in Tourneys, so I'm going to need to lab first. Any fundamental tips?
