You say all this just to excuse Young Thug who is guilty of the same criticisms.

Just say you wanted to be seen with this post.

Young thug has a lot of issues but he isn't monotone with his delivery and he can put in a good hook. He is a Sen dog. A vin rock. A flava flav. He excells in small doses but grates on his own. Give him a hook and a bridge and then show him the door.

You all know I'm a Max B Stan, and listening to Young Thug reminds me of the Wavy One a little. They both got this "dreamy" style flow, mixing up the rap-sing nicely. With killer hooks. Except I can't understand exactly all of what Thugger is saying. Barter 6 still the best of 2015 so far.

I see Future being compared to Biggaveli to be honest. They both have a straight up no chaser approach with the raps.

DS2 is just primo wilding out music. Looking deeper into it is the thing that makes you dusty siddx. It's music to bump to and to blast in your car on a hot summer day. It's just dumb shit that makes you feel good for for a few minutes.

Musical Tastes

Pick a Coast to rep (Chiraq or Atlantistan) - Well, West Coast, but if I had to pick between those two, ATL all day.
What’s your favorite subgenre of rap? (Conscious/Backpack, Trap/Drill, Mafioso, WC Gangsta, Swag, Weed, Hyphy, Club, etc) - G-funk
Favorite Artists (Pick Five) - Dr. Dre, Tupac, Scarface, OutKast, and Kanye are all mainstays for me
Favorite Artists Outside of Hip-Hop (Pick Five) - Miles Davis, Jimi Hendrix, Mastodon, Baroness, D’Angelo
What was your hip-hop AOTY last year? What’s your current hip-hop AOTY? Last year: Tie between Pinata and Tha Tour. This year so far: To Pimp A Butterfly
What are you listening to right now? - All Future’s projects from this year, Czarface, Barter 6, and Tha Tour have all been in rotation lately
What’s something you like that you might consider a guilty pleasure? What’s something you haven’t listened to that you think a hip-hop aficionado might give you shit for? Guilty pleasure: I like pop-punk sometimes. Something I’ve missed: I haven’t listened to pretty much any foundational 80s rap beyond NWA and Public Enemy. Those two have aged well enough, but everything else I’ve tried to get into, not so much (recommendations for stuff that holds up would be awesome).
Rank a Random Rapper’s Discography (Pick Someone With > 3 Albums)
I’ll rank Mixtape-era Weezy (let’s say 2005-2009):
Da Drought 3 > Carter II > The Leak > The Suffix > Carter III > Dedication 2 > No Ceilings > Tha Carter Files > Dedication 3

GAF-Hop Discusses

What do you like about the current state of hip-hop? What’s missing from the game? Overall, rap music is in a really good place, I think. This year alone has been ridiculous in terms of releases. I guess one thing that’s missing is a crew that both records together consistently and has a good dynamic. I thought Black Hippy might provide that but they don’t seem interested in working with each other much (or releasing music much). Thugger and Quan made a good team, but I guess that wasn’t meant to be.
Who’s Your Favorite Wu-Tang Member? Ghostface
Jay-Z or Nas? Biggie or Pac? Young Thug or OG Maco? Jay. Pac. Thug.
What Hip-Hop Album Are You Currently Anticipating? Jay Rock
Who is the Most Underrated Emcee? Who is the Most Overrated? Most underrated: Iamsu. Most overrated: Tech N9ne
Would You Rather Eat An Ass or Have Your Ass Eaten? As in all scenarios in life, I’d rather eat than be eaten.
Onions, Avocados, Both, or Neither? Onions
Do you still listen to Eminem? Why? No. Don’t even really like what he put out during his “prime.” He’s got a few songs/features I love (Rabbit Run, Underground, Renegade), but I can’t stand listening to any of his projects front-to-back.
Who’s your favorite pop artist? And who’s the finest? Fav current pop artist: Lorde. Finest: Beyonce

I seem to always pop back in here right as people are on their delusional shit about future's garbage tier no talent ass. I guess I'm just old and dusty cause I don't get it. He has zero flow, zero lyrical ability, zero mic presence, and zero creativity. It's like listening to a deaf man recite someone else's throwaway lyrics without bothering to read them first. At least young thug keeps it interesting and avoids being monotone most of the time.

Team old and dusty but 100% sure future is runny dookie left in the sun.

yo im dying here,

call me a dust head too but i cant get into him at all :(

I've finished my second listen of DS2. It's not as great as GAF-Hop believes. 7/10 initially, now down to a 6/10 from me.

When was the last time GAF-Hop went crazy on an album that actually wasn't that great?

everytime a 'big artist' releases an album gaf hop (and every forum tbh) loses their heads. don't fight it. just revel in it and acknowledge that you were wrong about the album 3 months later like everyone else.

Welcome Ark. Man we got a good flood of new people 🙏

Frankie gonna drop something with no promo I think. Not sure it'll be today, but I don't think he is expected to kill it sales wise anyway.

I mean, if you're on some DS2 is a GOAT album or something you'll be embarrassed in a few months for sure. But it's just a fun summer album. We needed one of those that didn't suck ass and Future fits the bill quite nice. Somebody earlier was comparing it to 06 and that's like comparing the LA riots to a block party.

But no one is hyping up DS2. Everyone is saying it's just a solid future release. Don't let your brain making generalization feel like you've hit some epiphany.

The problem with DS2 is the fact that the album has no direction. Sure it's Ig'nit music for the summer, but I can think of 10 albums of the past that gives off that summer heat with keeping my interest. Bottom line the album is a 7/10. 6/10 on a Monday.
