DLC sale when? I bought Roy mah boy and somebody gifted me a Lucas code, but the other stuff was a bit too expensive.

EDIT: but seriously, the DLC just came out. It's going to be a long time until it goes on sale, and if anything it'll be Mii costumes

This is one of the third party series that make the most of sense of them all for its tradition and relevance, but the game is already full of anime swordmen and magicians for a DQ hero to join.


Snake, Mega Man, Pac-Man, Sonic and Ryu do things that no Nintendo character can.

What about Slime?
He's got Dragon Quest + Its countless spin offs + his own spin-off (which is pretty fun and could give him a creative moveset on it own) to draw moves from. He's easily the most iconic image from the series.

Like, I can't even wrap my head around how they'd manage to fake this. Those Link particles are at the exact place they are supposed to be at that exact frame in the animation. There's no artifacts on the particles at all, those are the exact particles. And the characters can't be photoshopped from another stage screenshot because not only do they have proper shadows with no artifacts, but they have lighting that is also consistent with not only themselves, but with the stage itself.

If it's fake it's easily one of the most impressive video game fakes of all time just for the ridiculous attention to detail and the ability to recreate certain graphical parts of the game 100% perfectly or entirely recreating the Smash 4 engine.

Yep. With the initial ESRB there was at least an element of "this is how it could be done" with the only obstacle being the making of 3D renders. Here there are too many elements that are not easy for someone to make. Also, even though they are off screen, they are pretty clean shots unlike most fakes (and the initial ESRB).

The only answer I can give is that people have learnt how to rip models from the Wii U, there are already Splatoon models that are Steam Film Maker and G-Mod ready, so that's that one problem sorted. But that doesn't answer any of your other questions like how did they replicate the lighting or particles. Also, I don't know how complete the Viruses trophy from Smash U is in terms of rigging, but Yellow has a close mouth in that and an open mouth in those screenshots. Of course I suppose they could rip them from Dr Mario RX since the Wii is even easier to rip from than the Wii U.

Mega Man and Pac Man show that Sakurai prefers the recognisable image of a character vs the most up to date one. K Rool's modern design has only been used in spinoffs so he may have preferred using classic Rool since that's the design more people likely still know.

That flying man costume looks realllly similar to the actual 3D flying man they couldn't get to work in smash 3ds. Nice!
