Quantum Break Gameplay (Gamescom 2015)

Gameplay looks awesome even though the graphics are a bit last gen.

There is so much going on screen tho... its pretty cool, and all the effects and distortion look really wicked. It would be awesome to see this running on pc with DirectX12 :3

I do like all the different gameplay elements. I hope that they have smart design that challenges you.

This is the most ambitious title I've seen to date, with live action tie-ins, it's probably a nightmare to produce.

So, they changed the protagonist for a known actor?

Looks fantastic. The trailer got me legit excited for the story as well. It'll be interesting to see where it goes.

So seems the reason for the delay was to change the characters and work in some new stuff, I'm cool with that, the main character looks much better now. This is looking like it should be a great game.

I'm so freakin curious about this game's budget

It seems pretty fuckin high to me

Yeah it can't be cheap. Remedy also somewhat recently got a beautiful brand new studio. MS I'm sure has a lot of faith in them and seem to be betting big on this one

Look nice but gameplay shown doesn't grab me. Gives me Alan awake vibes of being but too samey and focused on the powers.

Still tiny peek and all so will see how it looks closer to launch.

Is the QB TV show still a thing ? Running along side the game or are the actors just involved in the game now, in movie cutscenes ?

It is. They showed a little bit of it during the briefing.

Cool, I saw some clips but no sound at work so couldn't really be sure if it was part of the game or the TV show, because I heard rumours that the show might have been cancelled, good to know its still coming though.

There is a good chance this will come later to PC. no? I think MS big exclusives will be making it to PC at one point or another.

The time powers look amazing. My biggest concern from the demo they showed is that the powers seem to be OP. I am honestly wondering how they plan on balancing it.
Also hopefully this game has a boss battle that isn't a QTE fest.

I wouldn't bet on it with MS holding the IP. It could happen, of course, but I don't think this will be an Alan Wake situation.

Visually I reckon it's the best I've seen on XB1, some terrific effects work, but gameplay I think I'd find that freeze mechanic pretty repetitive......also worrying characters have been recast, what else changed I wonder.

It's bombastic and over the top enough for me to really like it. Dunno if it will be fun to play though.

I'm assuming they made the character effectively invincible for those segments to show them off.

If it's anything like the previous Max Payne games, the amount of slow-down time will be limited and ammunition with decent but also limited supply.

You couldn't just use slow-down non-stop and shoot everything at will.

MS holds the IP for Dead Rising and Ryse, and both made it to pc already. Unless i am mistaken about those IPs.

Don't think all of MS's exclusive games will go to PC but I could see QB going since Alan Wake did.

This was the most impressive showing at Gamescom by far for me. No surprise really to me as I'm a huge Remedy fan but the graphics, story, and everything just look so top notch.

Also a damn good cast as well, I'm actually excited for the TV show with it

Agree.

They were playing in god mode. The Meters that limit your access to time powers weren't present in this build...

You are mistaken. Dead Rising = Capcom. Ryse = Crytek.

I don't think PC is straight-up impossible for QB, but I think it's unlikely, especially compared to previous IPs that went XB -> PC.

No. Those graphics are nice. It's probably the most visually impressive game on the Xbox One right now.

Rather then graphics, what's impressive is the amount of effects on screen, that enviroment deformations, particles and whatnot...just WOW.

Not sure about the real actors faces though... (even if it's understandable with the project being both a tv series and a videogame).

No Capcom owns the rights to Dead Rising and not too sure on Ryse. Crytek and MS had a dispute over IP ownership.

I guess you guys are right... they are maybe owned by MS for a period of time. But maybe with Win10 rolling out, they want the parity between xbone and pc?

hard to tell i guess.... so Remedy is owned now by MS?

Ryse is owned by Crytek. MS tried to fund the sequel, but they wanted IP ownership and Crytek said no, so the deal fell apart.

MS just gets publishing rights for some games. They often allow the IP holder to release on PC through another publisher.

QB is Microsoft's IP though, so if it ever goes PC then it will probably be MS that publishes it.

Remedy is still independent, but they have been close to MS for years. Considering the amount of money seemingly going into QB I assume the relationship is still pretty strong.

Are they making the show with a TV studio of some standard ?

It looks quite cool but I fear it's going to be small scale bite size. Makes me miss Fringe.

Good choice to make you look OP and unchallenged then.

I'll wait to see done non powers gameplay and done views on the balance between the two I think.

How is changing the characters worrying? If anything I prefer the character model they are using now.

How are people saying the gameplay looks samey? There's more stuff going on in terms of mechanics and powers in this short trailer than the entirety of Uncharted 3. People even defended the god damn Order.
