Excitedly waiting for confirmation that the Claywich merchant bug is indeed fixed as stated. Please tell me the key now drops!

Confirmed fixed for me at least. I loaded my save, right in front of the caged merchant and simply unlocked the door. Merchant arrived to Claywich and I got my cards. Finally!

It was painful for me to read that.

I wish it were perfect :(

Wait this was a thing? I only have the Wolven, Ursine, Feline and Griffin quests. Where do I start the Viper?

It's just a White Orchard quest, and only nets you two starter swords. There's no Viper school tier of gear and quests like the others. Not yet anyway.

Are these pop in impressions for PS4? How is framerate?

PC here.

I'm waiting as long as I can before buying the game.
I'm wondering what will be the size of the update when installing for the first time.
5 GB ??

Man GOG is semi-dead.

The game works perfectly for the people before the patch.

The game works perfectly for the people starting the game after the patch.

The only problem is very specific cases of people that started their game before the patch but are still playing (and not everyone in that group).

Why should design the entire game for that incredibly specific set of people?

what

Lol, after every patch people say the PS4 version seems to perform better, and every time it's 100% placebo. The only thing they've really managed to fix so far is the camera stutter, and that's not really a performance thing. I'm gonna remain VERY sceptical about this until I get more info.

(It was funny when they outright lied about the last patch fixing the performance on PS4, when it did nothing of the sort. Instead, it made the performance on XBO much worse.)

Will this fix Skellige Most Wanted?

I did the quest right after the patch and had no problem with it, but then again it was my first time trying it and I'm not sure exactly what bug I'm looking for.

But for what its worth I noticed nothing out of the ordinary.

I'll stop now.

Pop-in is definitely still there, but the average seems a lot better. I can definitely do long stretches of runs across Velen, Skellige, and Novigrad and again, at worst, the NPC pop-in in a single busy scene might be 2 or 3. More often than not towns/areas are fully loaded or NPC pop-in has been extended to a further horizon.

It's easy to call people out saying it's placebo when it comes to framerate, but pop-in? That's something that's quite easy to spot if it's gotten better or worse.

To quote my post from earlier:

Here's one of the tests I've done (PS4):

I fast traveled to the Glory Gate right outside Novigrad and sprinted to where Hattori's shop is. Normally I would have to wait a couple seconds for him to spawn in so I can talk to him, he was there straight away for me after installing 1.08.

This is something that was very frustrating for me playing through the game, having to wait for shop vendors to load in so I can talk to them. Having noticed the vendors that I would normally have to wait for be there ready for me to talk to after installing 1.08 is a definite improvement.

Ok, yeah, for sure. I was mainly talking about framerate though. But the pop-in/things failing to load in time was something that was fine originally and they then broke in a patch, wasn't it?

This game is wonderful, but it's also a damn mess in so many ways. I can't help but feel like CDPR bit off more than they could chew developing a game as ambitious as this for three separate platforms. They clearly don't have the QA to handle it.

That first screenshot would look amazing in motion, best forests ever. Did you mod the camera for that perspective?

Fixes an issue where players were unable to finish the "Scavenger Hunt: Viper School Gear" quest due to a closed gate.

Not fixed for me.

Fixes an issue where players were unable to finish the "Hey, You Wanna Look at my Stuff?" quest.

That does work now though.

On my rig, the only stutter I really ever see is from the camera movement. The damn camera animation does not cycle well....

On my rig, only stutter I notice(except for 1-2 frame rate during thunderstorm/lighting outside) is a split second stutter when the game is streaming a new town/area. Guess my raptor hdd just isn't fast enough.

You're fucking kidding me that this patch is another 7gb? Wasn't the last one about that too?

2GB here but I'm using Galaxy (disc version install). They bundle all patches into the latest which means each patch increases in size from the last. Not sure how it's handled on other platforms.

It's pretty spectacular how often CDPR claim to have fixed something when in fact they haven't. I'm not saying that they aren't trying or don't have good intentions, but their testing and QA procedures clearly aren't up to snuff.

PS4 impressions, please!

Won't play very soon, so I'd like to hear about performance improvements (or not).

Well congratulations! You got yourself caught!
Oh fuck no NG+ come on. I need some games, i haven't played anything for weeks.

Think this patch adds support when the NG+ 'free' dlc launches on the store. It lists support for it on ps4 1.08 notes, but I assume ng+ is a separate download.

After it took 5 attempts for the patch to finally update on X1, it suddenly stopped at 2%. I don't know if this is Microsoft's issue or what but man this update system is terrible for me. My internet isn't the fastest (15mbps) but it's consistent for everything but this type of stuff. Luckily I checked it just now otherwise it would be just sitting here doing nothing all day.

My games never auto-update even though 90% of what I own is all digital. And yeah it's set for instant-on, update whenever, etc.

How dare CDPR continue to support and fix their game!

How dare they fix bugs that they introduced in the 8 patches in a little over 2 months while not addressing shit that has been there since 1.0. Every single one of these threads there is a post like yours chastising people for calling out their insane amount of patches that invariably break something in the game. We are a few months from launch yet people act like they are doing us a favor by fixing the game with this continued support. Biggest eye roll ever. Free DLC wins hearts and minds apparently. Great game but very buggy, get some damn QA.

Given another chance
Folks, really happy to report that framerate has improved on PS4.

Now don't get me wrong, could it be improved further absolutely, but its getting there.

Stuttering is still there around, but overall framerate improved with a definite improvement to pop in. Not as bad as it was under 1.07.

Swamp area doesn't appear to be locked at 20fps, with some drops but not as frequent and not down to 15 fps or whatever for the amount of time it used to do.

Fighting in the swamps area was a much better experience, more fluid. Not perfect but better with little to no drop in visuals around said area.

Overall I'm going to get back in to this game now. I can play it at this level, and to be honest, I doubt they will persist in trying to eek anything else out performance wise, but one can live in hope :)

Get back to it :)

Thank You! Sweet Baby Jebus, finally can continue the main quest and talk to roach!!!

I'v been doing monster contracts, and secondary quest for like hours. Though most of the monster contracts are pretty freaking awesome.

I need to see more of what happened to roach after Witcher 2.

Thank You Based CDPJRED!

I hope you're right, I wont be able to check for a few days but I have pretty much ran out of low level side shit to do while waiting for them to fix this bug.

Not sure CDPJRED deserve much praise for taking three patches to finally fix this though.
