disappointing poll :(
EA buys and ruins *insert favourite developer* is a meme.
CDPR/slav studio is purchased by evil US publisher is a meme.
CDPR has already turned profit on Wild Hunt.
GOG is successful.
CD Projekt's stockmarket value is higher than it was pre-Wild Hunt launch.

I think this might be bullshit.
nah keep the thread going for 10 more pages or so

This would mean I wouldn't have to shell out for future CDPR games and maybe TW3 since they would be put in the EA Access Vault.

Saves me money in the long run

I see the future of AAA games on PS/XBOX becoming more homogenized as fewer and fewer publishers start owning the majority of developers, kinda like what goes on in Hollywood. And people want to Nintendo to be more western...

No no no no fuck off EA. The reason cdpr works so well is that they make games they want to play themselves and don't exclusively focus on what will sell. With EA managing they'll be focusing on what sells.

Fuck me. You have Bioware already leave me my CDPR

You'd have to be a colossal blockhead to badmouth the guys who might be your new bosses in a few months. I'm calling fake.

I'm not sure exactly what you're referring to, but that's usually not an issue at EA:

But what's the connection? Well, in name at least, it's an interesting factoid: speaking in this month's issue of GamesTM (as cited by GamerZines), Criterion Games designer Craig Sullivan said the team approached EA eight years ago to develop a "stunt racing game" called "Need for Speed: Split Second." So what happened? Well, EA was none too happy about the developers walking away from a sequel to the C64 classic Skate or Die, which had been a secret project at the time. Said Criterion's Alex Ward:

"We called a meeting with the EA guys, told them we were walking away and they went mad, threatening to sue us, put us out of business... there was a lot of anger and frustration. Then we got a call from the Need For Speed guys and they said 'we can't work with you guys any more; you just walked away and there's a shame on your company, so we can't talk to you'.

I remember coming back to my desk and there was a folder on my desktop called EA and I just clicked delete. We learned a lot about how a game should be made."

Alex Ward was later made a high ranking big wig at EA and given control of the Need For Speed franchise.

Have they raised any VC money? If not, the founders hold a substantial share of the company and would be inclined to sell even at a low valuation ($100M and up)

Why would they need to be acquired? They're not hurting for resources, and being bought out by a big budget company would just inflate their gaming budgets and scare away real talent.

I think that employee its overreacting

"I saw somebody enter in the kitchen with a knife, its not our usual chef and its not lunchtime so that can only mean one thing, HE IS GOING TO STAB US ALL!"

I can't see it happening after they just happily announced how much profit they made from The Witcher 3. They don't need a publisher and damn sure don't need the money where they have to accept a buyout.

No, they are subsidiary of publicly owned company and their major cash cow. Selling CDPRred means CDP has only gog and physical distribution rights in few european countries.

Huh. I've never even thought about this. I mean this would be THE worst case scenario. Would be one of the most disgusting things to ever happen to the industry. Think about it. Think about all of the development philosophies that CDPR adheres to, their approach to dlc etc. All that would gone so fucking fast.
