Ok I've had a chance to sit down and play it for a bit. My thoughts:
- Graphics look great
- Frame rate is solid - I actually forgot about the frame rate when I started playing, and it felt pretty smooth, but I didn't really realize why at first.
- People are saying the gunplay is clunky. I'd like to know what they mean by that, as I find the gunplay much more responsive. Almost too easy. I was nailing head shots with my pistol right away, and I haven't played an UC game in years. If this is clunky, I think some people's standards are too high.
Negatives:
- Few AI glitches I ran into - most notably, when you first enter the window at the start a guard is supposed to come over and you can take him out with stealth melee. For me, 3 guards came over, and proceeded to stare out the window, and didn't move for 2 minutes, making it impossible for me to stealth.
I'll have to spend more time with it to form more opinions, but I'm liking what I'm seeing so far. People need to remember it's a remaster, not a remake. They touched up the graphics and performance, made the feel of the controls a bit more consistent, but it's still a dressed up PS3 game at its core. Anyone expecting different doesn't know what a remaster is.
