I played half an hour at lunchtime. Runs well on my office PC, which is old (AMD 6300 CPU! Nvidia 660 GPU!). Ran at auto detect very smoothly, which detected at all Medium settings 1080p.

Very very arcade-y. Fun. Think it may die off quickly.

I always had problems with BF on consoles.

I've been favouring third person. I've always played Battlefront in third person but you also get a better view of things around you.

Played for a while last night. Experience was incredible so far. One question though, how do you get the Darth Vader or Luke Skywalker powerup on Hoth? I played like six games yesterday and didn't play as the heroes. I could see the powerups on the map but by the time I got there they were gone. I'll try again tonight!

What just happened to me just made this shoot from a great Star Wars to my favorite Star Wars game.

Putting it into quotes to make it more organized.

I snagged a Hero token, turned into Luke, went full sprint into three guys, slashed all of them down in an instant.

Then, a Tie Fighter started flying straight into me, like, dive bomb style. I leapt into the air, SLASHED THE TIE FIGHTER AND BLEW IT UP, then ran backwards, slipped past an AT-ST, and chopped that down too, all culminating in me getting rained on by gunfire and going down.

So uh, yeah, EA, put me down for the $70 edition on Day One.

Sidenote: No stuttering or FPS drops for me on Da Bone', but I opted out of the new dashboard so I'm running on stable firmware.

I am going to get the BETA on both X1 & PS4 just to see if i can notice any differences.

Got an early XBOX One code and played some last night. I don't know about the resolution, but it looked gorgeous to me and the of course the sound design is immaculate.

Some random thoughts:
- I generally suck, but all three modes were fun
- Jump pack is really cool
- Destroying an AT-ST with a smart rocket was the moment that brought a stupid grin to my face
- Just early on, but I like the hands and cool downs so far
- Also like walking over a powerup and seeing what you get - reminds me of mario kart or something
- Have yet to fly anything - but looking forward to that


Question:
- Is there a way to set control preferences separately for you and your co-op partner? I want inverted look but my wife wants the opposite

I am really enjoying it. It's just pure fun. Considering how this beta performance it seems to even be a safe launch pick up.

I also really liked the Fighter Squadron stuff I played at Gamescom, so yea I will buy it I think.

First of all the game looks great. But, and this might sound picky, I HATE the font of the text. It just looks so bland and not STAR WARS to me. Even for a game like Battlefield it just doesn't serve the game at all. Sorry, I had to get that off my chest lol.

Yep, they're incredible. The way they hold true to the original trilogy with sparks flying everywhere is just amazing. Only got to play a few matches last night but visually and audibly, this is an absolute love letter to the original movies.

I can't wait to play on Endor.

They might? I noticed that vehicle powerups spawn in the same locations and I think the others do to. The heroes ones might pop randomly at the normal powerup spots though.

I'm fairly certain its random, otherwise everyone would just be camping at the designated spawn location.

I imagine that a lot of people, myself included, were silently optimistic through all of the critical threads on GAF but had nothing to help back up their viewpoint. Now that the beta is in the wild and it plays well and looks gorgeous, you're seeing those people come alive.

I love that there are no attachments and no bonus for zooming. If anyone is familiar with how Uncharted 2 played online before the patch of doom, this is like that but faster and with no cover system.

Hipfire is the main way to kill, with over the shoulder zooming for slower and more precise shots.

I still play BF4 today and it plays great now. This already feels a lot better than BF4 was at launch. Not even close. They cant screw up a license like this.

You purchase star cards, that unlock as you level, or at least that is how it is set up right now. I wouldn't be surprised if you can also purchase random packs to unlock customizable items like armor, etc.
