SPOILER ALERT: Halo 5 (Spoiler) Spoiler Thread of Spoilers Spoiler

I was already banned on ******** after kess than a year. I'm more than willing to put spoiler tags just to be safe...
You won't be banned for spoilers in the Spoiler Thread. Going and posting unmarked spoilers in other threads? Sure. But in this one, unless you're just willfully making stuff up, you're good.
Well apparently this is the "baby's first spoiler thread" thread so...

I dunno, someone remind me, were spoiler tags used excessively in the MGSV spoiler thread when the big twist leaked?
I do recall a number of people whining about the thread not being clearly marked (lol), which resulted in the thread being renamed by the mods to be: SPOILER: Spoiler Metal Gear Solid V (TPS) Spoiler Thread (Contains Spoilers, Thanos).

"Now you're hunting the greatest of your clan."

"Let him hunt. He'll never find us."

Chills.

Pretty sure the whole Cortana working against the UNSC and waking the Guardians is a ruse. Got to be whatever it is on that Forerunner planet, Genesis.

Halsey seems mighty pissed at her though.

With the Arbiter safe, Locke goes to talk with him. Thel doesn't take too kindly with him hunting the Master Chief or being an ex ONI agent. Apparently he knows that Locke was once planning on assassinating him. While they talk about Locke hunting John Cortana interrupts them, saying "Let them hunt. They'll never find us".Halsey appears and says that Cortana knows about the Guardian at Sunaion. Locke says that they need to get to Sunaion but Thel says that they move on Sunaion when they know they will win. Osiris is deployed and Halsey says they she has a briefing prepared but due to Cortanas show of power she is reluctant to discuss it over open channels so Osiris starts to move to her location Cutscene can be seen here

I was thinking about the rumor/spoiler that Master Chief kills Locke. From a story point, him being a brand new character, it doesn't really make sense at all. But from a real life POV, Mike Colter is going to be busy as hell with the MCU. From what we've seen from the behind the scenes/Sprint videos, Nathan Fillion seemed pretty difficult to schedule around.

They already replaced his voice actor, would it be so far-fetched to eliminate him completely to avoid all the hassle?

All in all, I still think it's a troll though.

:/ I'll hold my judgement until I finish, but consider me disappointed that it seems to mostly focus on Osiris. I want to play as Chief, not Locke.

Fuck outta here 343.....80/20 ratio in Locke's favor? This story better be damn good, still I should've expected this.

I mean I know stuff changes during development but I'd like an explanation....

They've gone through and said at many times, while we're playing as Locke, the story is entirely about the Chief and wtf he's doing. It's not exactly false saying he's still the 'main character'.

That is technically in line with my views of protagonist does not equal main character.

The gameplay, story, and presentation all appear to be top notch... But there is clearly a disappointing lack of Blue Team...

Shouldn't have any impact on my enjoyment of the title, but it was hoping for 50/50 if not more in favor of Chiefs squad...

Hopefully, Chiefs missions are long as hell...

If you actually read the thread it's people primarily concerned with the fact that you will only be playing as Locke, Stinkles comes in and says that and everyone goes back to thanking based god.

I can already sense the rage and disappointment that'll come from those hyped up in the other Halo threads when they hear of this :(

I don't personally care who I play as. MGS2 was awesome

But MGS2 was awesome specifically because we didn't know that we were playing as Raiden, we already know we're playing as Locke. Also I doubt 343 has the chops to pull off something as creepy and 3rd wall breaking as the descent into Arsenal Gear. Also I hope Frankie and crew have their flame shields ready, because I have a feeling they are gonna get alot of shit for this from alot of people.

It's a reading comprehension issue if this is interpreted as "players primarily control the Master Chief."

Everything I've seen has my interest. I thought the story structure of Halo 2 was well handled and there are parallels here.

If the game turns out great without Chief being the playable character yet the game is all about Chief (events surrounding Chief - the Hunt) then I don't see a reason for a big disappointment. Obviously they do have to execute very, very well for fans to take it favorably but ALAS, 4 Chief games, I think a bit of change is due to avoid "Chief fatigue". Not to mention the benefits of adding another great character to the series.

Execution is key, if they hit it out of the park, the overwhelming response will be positive, if they do a so-so job you'll hear mixed reactions.
