Not the ad that I just saw on tv. That was mediocre. The ad in the linked video is great.
Yep. It's remarkable how much a commercial like this affects the public's perception to the console it's marketed with. There will be a lot of Star Wars Dads picking up PS4s because they saw this commercial and don't even realize it's on other platforms.

It was a great ad, but I am sure there are a number of people, outside of forums, that are probably telling each other how amazing the game looked in the commercial, not realizing it was not gameplay...which imho is probably the reaction Sony/EA want's.
Outside of that, it was a very well made commercial. This and the Halo 5 ones have been great and regardless of where you land in the console realm between the big 2, it is a great time to be a gamer with so many good games coming this holiday.

Yep, I witnessed it with Destiny last year and I even saw some people think Batman was exclusive this year.
There is a huge divide between folk like us who post on gaming forums and those who base everything off of a simple commercial with a logo popping up at the end of it. They are just nowhere near as informed nor do they care even remotely as much as we all do.

Perhaps Sony fear there might be too big a rush on Star Wars bundles and they have plenty of stock for the Nathan Drake and TLOUR bundle.
It is when you get the hang of it. I thought the controls were awful but some more time and they mostly felt pretty good. When you're swooping around in an X Wing and not crashing taking out tie fighters it feels pretty bad ass!
But the game play kind of does look that good though...
I mean yeah there is no one flying through Manhattan in tie fighters , but hoth does look like a jumbled mess like that

There's a very big disclaimer at the bottom during the commercial. It's not even hidden in a footnote at the end of the commercial. They were very upfront about it.

Anyone who hasn't got a clue whether that is real gameplay or not (especially with a "not actual gameplay" message on the ad) is going to be impressed with the graphics in the game.

People are not this stupid. They understand a live action commercial (see Destiny) when they see one. I doubt anyone was complaining that they couldn't really play as Kobe Bryant or Channing Tatum in Call of Duty.
It seems the video on Sonys youtube channel might just be the full one for now. What we're seeing on tv might be the general ad. Doesn't matter in the slightest honestly. Sony's youtube channel is getting good attention because of it and then when you walk in stores and see a Battlefront bundle with a PS4 system it pretty much sells itself.

Well, if they sell a ton of ps4s due to this marketing campaign, that's more pote tial buyers for Until Dawn....??? Yes I'm joking, but its also true.

I had more pleasure watching that ad than playing the beta
Great ad. Would gave been way better with that MGSV PS4 at the end.
I'm not saying it would have made any sense, but the end of that ad would still be 400% better if I suddenly found out that MGSV PS4 was in the box, and I could buy one of those.
Black system with giant Vader head, not so much for me personally.

There may be effects for the sky and color saturation, but I have seen the set where this was filmed, it was all live actors, and shot in a such a way.
There's also the weird vignetting mixed with the blur.
and the fact that it's a 5 second gif

I'll start with full disclosure that I'm an Xbox gamer primarily and a PC gamer in a secondary manner, (last pc game bought was homeland remaster).
It was a good ad, but it pales compared to the recently Halo Launch Trailer. (which in turn benefited from the outstanding Hunt the Truth ad campaign) Of course it stirred my youth with the SW music, but no gameplay? I dunno, I think my meh reaction to the actual gameplay in the beta colors my reception to this ad too. I'm sure the masses will eat it up, given the appeal of starwars but no SP, and basic rather uninspired game play really make this a wait for EA Access Vault title for me, dampening any hype a non representative commercial could generate in me.
Also that ps4 LE console is uninspired and the controller is fugly, I'd cut that part if I were Sony.

I think it'll turn out that Sony is footing most of the ad bill. That way EA still can sell on all platforms and saves on marketing and Sony gets the mind share. And everyone gets to place the same game experience.

Sony's marketing machine is solid with this ad. I am sure they will sell a ton of PS4's with this. I am not sure ill be picking up Battlefront as my tastes will be with Halo 5.

You didnt like the commercial because it didnt have gameplay, but you praise halo commercials when they dont have gameplay. Regarding hunt the truth and master chief, i thought he died 3 games ago lol
