PlayStation Experience 2015 Thread: The Year of Dreams

Is anyone watching the PSX stream right now? Did Bendis say that Powers season 2 is free for Plus, or was he talking about Season 1?

God's had his chance.
Is everything big/new/first party expected to be day 1 only?

I want to hold out hope for Bend or GoW or something huge but... lots of good stuff at the conference. Just not mindblowing in any way really. FF7 looked great though. Actually excited to play through it again now with my daughter.

The only thing I'm wondering is where were all the 1st party games, no mans sky, last guardian, gt sport etc and no new 1st party announcements?

Saying that Ni no Kuni 2 :DDDDDDDDDDDD

Oh, now anyone who doesn't love indie games is a piece of shit. Cool.

I think the critisism is more for people that see indie games and immediately start complaining about how shitty the conference is, without actually bothering to see what the games are about. Nobody has to like them, but some people are weirdly aggressive about it. I hate first person shooters but I accept that lots of people like them, so I don't start complaining about how terrible the show is when one appears.

Are there any conference going to be tomorrow? Or later the day?

If that was all, i am greatly disappointed. Aside from games I expected a new software update or new features to be announced.

It's not that they're pieces of shit at all. But discounting an entire range of games because they're not AAA seems pretty blinkered.

I thought the 'fun little snacks' comment was extremely accurate. It is a wide range of games but I think PS+ has given us all enough samples to know what we think of the genre overall.

And in my experience there is just not enough substance to an indie game to get me super hyped up about any kind of announcement. It's fine to have an indie segment, but 40 minutes of nothing but indie games, I'm not surprised people got annoyed.

Maybe not you.

But let's be honest, tons of these indie supporters are probably the same people crying foul at the Blops segment. (I didn't care for either.)

Rez? Darn, I was hoping this would eventually become an Xbox 360 BC title on Xbox One, probably won't get the okay for BC if it is getting a PS4 treatment to sell the PS4 VR stuff. Awesome game though I hope we get to play it on PS4 without the VR.

I'm not trying to be pedantic, but indie games are not a genre. They're just smaller team/smaller budget games. They may tend towards some genres more than others due to budget, but that's about it.

You're right, it was poorly worded.

I just mean that I think PS+ has given everyone a very good general idea of what we can expect from Indie titles.

Let's be honest, for every Transistor or Journey, there is quite a bit of crap.

It's like saying "people expected that ND will reveal a 15 minute gameplay demo of U4 gameplay at PSX instead of E3...Facepalm!"

Facepalm.

Doesn't help that SSM was posting a lot about GoW and about PSX as well.

Plus, last year Shannon did mention that this year's PSX will be huge for them.

When you say not enough substance, are you talking about story, game length? Is there anything you think they are lacking? If you haven't, i'd recommend trying Transistor, Journey or Brothers, they are great games in their own right, indie or not.

Edit: I see from your post above that you have.

I'm really hoping I can add Rime to the list of great indie's.

Urgh..this was so VR heavy. Some nice announcements though that I'd look forward to. So many cringe moments too haha!

Journey is a fantastic game.

I'd love to know the scoring system for giving objective scores to a press conference.

It means that there were couple of big announcements/ interesting games that weren't for my taste, but I can still give it a nod, just like how someone can say that E3 was crazy even if those games aren't for him, we all know what is considered to be big or quality even if it's not for us.

I think I fall somewhere in the middle with the indie thing. I am always interested in what they show, but will generally only pick out 1 or 2 that I really want to play. I suppose that's the same with AAA or anything else, it either interests me or it doesn't.

Maybe they should think about changing the format a bit and not have such a large section dedicated to indies. I think the quality of them is good enough to just have them placed throughout the whole show without the dedicated section.

Just watching the VOD. Where can I put in my CC info to access a version without hyperbolic applause from the 'audience'

I missed the stream, but it seems like a lot of cool things were announced. Anybody have a link to the conference now that the live broadcasts are over?

Is it me or was that a boring ass lineup of things announced? :-/

Wut? We got FF7R gameplay, Ni No Kuni 2 reveal, Ace Combat 7, Ni-Oh gameplay.. That's pretty good in my book.

The VR stuff was mediocre, but seeing as it is going to be released next year they had to push it. There were good surprises with the VR though like Psychonauts and 100ft robot as well as Rez.
