Thanks to Steam seal, I got around to buying Snakebird and Hand of Fate. I highly recommend both games.

Hand of Fate combat can be a bit clunky at times but the card aspect is very fun. Snakebird... Snakebird is made of pure evil. I like it, really challenging puzzle game. Some of the maps seem impossible, even when they are not. Mind bending and twisting game.

If you like that kind of stuff, you should come by the Indie Games threads. We're always discussing under-the-radar games like those

Mushroom 11 is one of the best puzzle and platformer games I've played in years, everyone should give it a go. Unique mechanics and really varied boss designs.

You move around by destroying parts of your blob which makes it grow in the opposite direction if you're touching an object while you do so.

Hot press blurbs from their steam page because people care about goty awards
* Rock, Paper, Shotgun's Best Platformer of 2015
* IGN's List of Best Platformers and Most Innovative Games of 2015
* The Guardian's Top 25 Games of 2015

Really challenging stuff and each time I've mastered one aspect of movement they introduce something else. A lot of people know how many games I buy and play for 5 minutes only to abandon but this one is really holding my attention which is rare. Probably counts for something!

I feel people would have been more satisfied by steam apology regarding the security issue if the gave something to the affected account, like Portal or Left for dead which they already gave away before would have been in my opinion a good marketing move.

Good tastes. Mushroom 11 is fantastic and easily one of the most innovative platformers in a long time

It's an Indie Fund game too, along with games like Antichamber, The Swapper, and Her Story

Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the capability to make the world's first enhanced store. Steam will be that store. Better than it was before.
Don't know how I missed this but it's from the creators of Puzzle Quest?! Definitely going to play this.

It's not just the makers of Puzzle Quest. It is Puzzle Quest, if Infinity Ward (well, now "Infinity +2") still had the rights to the Puzzle Quest name. I'd say this could be called Puzzle Quest 3 except that it'd be more apt as Puzzle Quest 2 than Puzzle Quest 2 was.

Seriously this is a great game, and the F2P mechanics don't really kick in unless you just get downright impatient with the game's natural level progression.

I recently purchased an Alienware Alpha so I'm getting back into PC gaming. I already have a PS4 and Xbox One so I want to check out some PC exclusives. Is there any recent great PC only games with controller support?

Oh rock of ages, do not crumble, love is breathing still. Oh lady moon shine down, a little people magic if you will.
I want to thank everyone who recommended me Ori and the Blind Forest. Especially Nabs, who showed me this tweet, after which I had no excuses to not buy the game anymore.

I think i've fallen in love.

The Prologue was really sad though. :(

Undertale.

Though really most indie games start life on PC and tend to have controller support, provided they aren't a genre like RTS or builder.

I have Darkest Dungeon in my wishlist since the KS's campaign. I'm thinking in buy it, but I read some really worrying opinions in the last two months about the game balance and gameplay with the latest patches. The game is still good or for now, it's broken and not recommended?

Toma commented on this over in the Indie Sales thread
Okay, so. I read that a few times now. Since I havent played the game in a while, I started up a new session and play a few hours yesterday. Anecdotal evidence, but I am still alive and kicking. Is the game hard? Certainly, its probably the most unrelenting of any of the "roguelite" games, which is also very fitting due to its despair theme. Does the game reward you with proper planning and knowledge of game mechanics and content? Definitely, starts with tactical decisions in combat to planning the proper group formation for the long term.

Its a tough game, its also an unpleasant game and one of the few games where I am actively considering retreating from fights and dungeons just to save my skin. However, not even failing and losing all of your adventurers might be a an immediate failure, as you always have 12 or more heroes (4 per party/run) that you switch out regularly.

Might the game still throw you something that seems unsurmountable? Sure, might happen. But I cant think of any roguelike, which doesnt throw something super randomly hard at you from time to time. Also, you can turn off some of the more annoying things via the option menu if you really cant deal with it (which makes the game a ton easier to survive in).

You can get a solid dozen hours from this and its one of the most original and athmospheric games in the genre, so I'd say to give it a shot if you want to fight your fears (and horribly fail at doing so).

$3 is good
Stranger's wrath is a good game overall imo.

Yep, think I have added near 220 games during this seal. Will have to double check that for sure but only spent near 180 dollars or so. Also have to double check that after I finish up everything.

Helps that china's pricing is usually half off what the american store seems to usually have but I really stacked up quite nicely.

I think it is quite good. There was one bad patch (the Abomination/Madman patch) where low level monsters were throwing out crazy amounts of stress. But there were a lot of quality of life changes and the worst of the issues were balanced the following patch.

Just expect it to be grindy, hard, and occasionally random. I got it last sale and have dumped 20+ hours into it so far and have had a blast.

Chapter 6 of Mushroom 11 might be the most difficult platforming I've encountered in a game*, some really creative stuff going on but man is it stressful.

*I don't play those masochistic games like Meat Boy's later stages and Kaizo games.

I promised I'd be back! This giveaway ends ringing in the Australian New Year! (at least in the weird GMT+9:30 timezone)

The time is kinda early for Americans, but Aussies and Europeans should be fine!

... That's the wrong Half-Minute Hero image... That's the sequel, but I'm giving away the first game.

dunno about stuff besides $5 watch dogs somewhere in aus

Rhaknar

The Steam equivalent of the drunk friend who keeps offering to pay your tab all night.
Played an hour of Victor Vran, its awesome. That is all.

what it is not however, is a deep diablo style game. the skill system is super simple (its like guild wars 2 where your skills / spells are tied to what weapon youre using, which you can have 2 equipped, and then you have a spell you can use with your special bar, thats pretty much it). So buyer beware. As someone that is actually turned off these days by games like Path of Exile with its ridiculous talent trees, this hits the spot for me

Also you play Geralt in it. Come on!

Trading copies of Watch Dogs Complete for stuff on my wishlist if you're interested, duder.

No price mistakes so far during this sale.

Well...there was the recent announcement by ArcSys about Melty Blood and Uniel in recent memory.

Something about Watch Dogs being very cheap, though i'm unaware of the details.

Can anyone recommend any good CO-OP games on sale for under £5-10? I was looking to pick up a title for me and my buddy to play together while I return to University.

Torchlight 2, Castle Crashers, CSGO (learning curve is high though) and Rocket League if you're willing to pay a bit more. (shit is damn fun)

I don't know about on sale or not but I've been trying to categorise games on my Steam library for Local Co-op. Currently my list has:

BattleBlock Theater
Castle Crashers
Child Of Light
Dungeon Defenders
How To Survive
Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet
Lara Croft & The Guardian Of Light
Magicka
Monaco
Nidhogg
PixelJunk Monsters Ultimate
PixelJunk Shooter
Portal 2
Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed
Trine 2

sitting in it.

Really wish the Steam library filters were more intelligent. Recent/Installed/Favourite are handy obviously but things like Game Size <1GB, Local Co-op etc would be really useful.
