Or maybe they went for a more realistic look. Since, well, that's what MK was all about when it intially got huge. Female MK characters used to have realistic proportions because they were portrayed by real women. I'll never understand this logic that since MK is a gore-y series, then it must feature naked volleyball breasts - because otherwise it'd be hypocritical somehow.

also, and this is more subjective, but i also think the costumes are just fucking lame. not a single alt costume has looked "cool" to me

Dhalsim's alt is pretty great IMO. But yeah, I also personally think it's a super weak bunch of costumes overall. I'm sticking to default costumes for 2 of my 3 characters.
I mean are you not familiar with her art in general? Her artstyle? She is pretty damn famous and known for doing sexy art. It's not what she does exclusively but people come to her for a reason. Few people draw characters like Chun-Li, Morrigan, Mai etc. like her. Multiple figures have been commission off her art. Let's also remember she also gets to choose which jobs she takes and which she refuses (I mean she's gotta eat but nobody is putting a gun to her head to draw X or draw the way she does). Her twitter is here though not a ton of her work is there. Like I can't say she would necessarily put out something like Laura's alt outfit on her own time but you can expect sex appeal with her work.

But to reply about the discussion of Laura's alt. I'll take a thotstume over a generic look. As long as it ain't Honey levels of bad.
I remember she did release some artbooks recently that were basically just sketches and stuff she's worked on recently. I think her art style is pretty good and some of the stuff she draws is just bizarre so her blog has been fun to check on every few months or so.

I assume all the alt costume will be unlockable with fight money? Isnt that what they said? Even dlc character can be unlocked for free if you want

Anything that can affect gameplay is unlockable.
Costumes don't affect gameplay, DLC characters do.
We still don't have any confirmations on anything though.
Some costumes will be unlockable with FM and some will be premium only. I assume these will be unlockable with FM.
