Damn, MS finally showing some love to PC.
Shame about all these games being Windows store exclusive though :/

I'm getting tired of bad ports, but that's just some games, and they happen on consoles too (I'm just extra salty because of Mortal Kombat X). Otherwise? It's pretty freaking sweet :] It's getting exclusives from both consoles, lol.

So freaking awesome I built my gaming pc 6 months ago and couldn't be happier

At this point, and if all this is true, then I wouldn't be surprised to see 360 BC games coming to PC in the near future...

You buy a console because its easy... most friends arent going to jump into a game on pc as easy as a console. Alot of people do not have pcs hooked up to tvs etc. You plug it in the game works.. well mostly .. but you are not configuring etc. Its just there and works.

Pc you can run into a ton of issues and some people do not want to deal with this. I know its way easier than it use to be. Before plug in play when you had to take your computer apart to change i/o addresses for configuration errors. Thankfully this is gone. But still there are compatibility issues with drivers and hardware much more frequently. The majority of the people do not want to deal with this or know how. I would say the perception here is much different because of the crowd that visits here is much more versed in these sort of things. So playing on pc is easy.

Ultimately, I think the Xbox brand will make a transition to the PC platform. I can see it having it's own marketplace, much like Origin and Steam. It just makes sense. All I see Microsoft doing right now is hemorrhaging money on exclusivity rights (Rise of the Tomb Raider) and marketing on a console that just isn't stacking up against the competitor.

As our age of technology evolves, PC's are becoming far less intimidating and difficult to upgrade and understand. Gaming on it makes more and more sense.

All right, I've updated the title to reflect the situation.

Scalebound I would definitely want barring disaster.

I thought the Gears of War 4 demo at E3 looked terrible, but it would be an easier sell to me on PC since all my friends who play multiplayer use PC, which would likely end up being the main draw for me if the E3 video is representative of the final campaign direction.

People said this day would never come (at least this soon). Only Halo stands. Don't think we're are getting an Xbox console next gen - if we do, some sort of Apple TV kind of thing.

If Gears 4 gets a simultaneous release on PC, then there truly is no reason to own an Xbox anymore.

The Xbox One would be laundry list of all the worst mistakes you could make with a console. I never cared a lot about the Kinect but since it was bundled in my purchase, I expected them to do something with it, but they dropped support quick and never looked back.

Good job, Phil Spencer. /s

You can make things right by doing an Xbox buyback program. I need money for a 980ti/Pascal. See if I ever purchase another Xbox console; it'll be too soon.

I don't understand the rip xbox comments.

Like a 1000$ PC is somehow equivalent to a 300$ console to the mass market? Maybe for some folks here, but I'd wager most of these folks wouldn't have even bothered with an xb1 or these games anyways.

I think this hyperbolic.

But I do think MS is seeing the tea leaves. I don't think dedicated boxes will be a thing in 8 years.

Still like my Xbone for Halo and Forza, which appear to still be console only.

But no doubt that PC seems to be the future for MS games. It's just really expensive to build a high end aging PC so it'll be a while.

I would upgrade to Win10 just for Scalebound.

Though, after playing Dragon's Dogma at 144fps (which I consider the action RPG gold standard that Scalebound will have to go against), it would be jarring to have that game only playable at ~30fps

The reason to own an Xbox One is if you like to play on a console and do not want the extra initial investment and other issues / usability / form factor that come with PC gaming / hold no interest in PC centric games or other benefits / flexibility.

On the other hand if you can handle the occasional wobble that comes with an open platform and are fine with a higher initial cost or even researching and making your own build, PC gaming has been a no brainer for a long time

Can't wait to spend the total price of an Xbox One on a ton of fucking games. This is easily the best move by Phil Spencer so far. I hope it pays off immensely, he deserves it.

Still missing Sunset, the Halos and the Forzas. Hopefully just a matter of time.

I think only halo will stay exclusive

Forza could use the sales boost.

If this is true then RIP Xbone

So what? The PS4 is already stomping it globally. MS' goal is to make money. They can make a lot more money putting these games on PC and Xbox One than they'll ever make in additional Xbox One sales.

It isn't like consoles have a long life as a consumer product ahead of them anyhow. Sony is already offering a streaming service that gives you games from an obscure and entirely unique hardware with PSNow. Contemporary x86 architecture is only going to make this easier and more affordable as we go forward. MS needs to establish themselves in PC gaming again and use that as their path to gaming consumers, not rolling the dice on a set top box they lose money on when they launch every 5-7 years.

Good move for them. Now just avoid locking them behind a draconian service that MS won't support in five years leaving huge legacy issues in the game.

Masterplan:
On the event in 2 Weeks, announce that every Xbox One exclusive is also coming to Windows 10.
Announce a small set top box Xbox that can stream from PC to TV like Steam Link. (Xbox One also gets this option)

Announce Xbox Two, which is basically just a PC with a small form factor and stock pieces.

You should upgrade anyway. 10 is a solid OS.

Jeez ... Just read the first paragraph..

"The Quantum Break website explains that people who pre-order the digital version of Quantum Break for Xbox One will get a free copy of the Windows 10 edition. This offer expires April 4. The game supports saves across Xbox One and PC, but there is no cross-platform play."

So if you order quantium break for xbox one you get the xboxone game the pc version. Allen wake for the xbox one and both add-ons?

If you have to add all this stuff to entice people how good will this game really be? Doesnt seem like a good sign. Or the game is like 4hours long.
