Gears 4 too is maybe a bit surprising, but perhaps the writing was on the wall with Ultimate Edition.

Look, for MS's long term future in the game as both a hardware maker and a software developer/publisher, this makes a hell of a lot of sense.

Owned an XB1 for less then 2 months and I already regret it lol. I guess backward compatibility is nice.

First and last time I buy an Xbox product though.

The reason to own an Xbox One is if you like to play on a console and do not want the extra initial investment and other issues / usability / form factor that come with PC gaming / hold no interest in PC centric games or other benefits / flexibility.
Which is why every XBO game should have a PC version. Everyone wins.

So what? The PS4 is already stomping it globally. MS' goal is to make money. They can make a lot more money putting these games on PC and Xbox One than they'll ever make in additional Xbox One sales.

It isn't like consoles have a long life as a consumer product ahead of them anyhow. Sony is already offering a streaming service that gives you games from an obscure and entirely unique hardware with PSNow. Contemporary x86 architecture is only going to make this easier and more affordable as we go forward. MS needs to establish themselves in PC gaming again and use that as their path to gaming consumers, not rolling the dice on a set top box they lose money on when they launch every 5-7 years.

Good move for them. Now just avoid locking them behind a draconian service that MS won't support in five years leaving huge legacy issues in the game.

Thanks for stating the obvious.

What? They don't need some "heavy involvement" by a big publisher to release this game on Steam. It's quite easy.

it is, but im sure they could use a hand from microsoft studios considering their first and only pc game is slow down, bull

edit: this is from remedy a long time pc dev, it might be easy to put up a game on steam, but creating a quality aaa pc release is not as simple, insomniac could definitley use all the help they can get

I don't have an Xbone and don't plan on getting one for Scalebound, but I would buy it on PC in a heartbeat. This would be +1 sale from me, so hopefully Microsoft goes through with it!

I know that one of the games listed is coming to PC.

I talked to Moobabe and while I'm not going to guarantee it, based on what they're saying and some poking I did earlier, it's certainly at least plausible enough that I don't intend to go around whacking people for lying.

Lets just wait for the event on Feb 25th then :)

Now I'm actually excited about the upcoming event.
I will buy Scalebound even if it's a W10 store exclusive.

There's every possibility it's true but they weren't allowed to say publicly yet, and now they're backpeddling to try and put the fire out.

Jeez ... Just read the first paragraph..

"The Quantum Break website explains that people who pre-order the digital version of Quantum Break for Xbox One will get a free copy of the Windows 10 edition. This offer expires April 4. The game supports saves across Xbox One and PC, but there is no cross-platform play."

So if you order quantium break for xbox one you get the xboxone game the pc version. Allen wake for the xbox one and both add-ons?

If you have to add all this stuff to entice people how good will this game really be? Doesnt seem like a good sign. Or the game is like 4hours long.

Are they really adding anything though? A bunch of old games worth a few bucks and a license to the exact same game on a different platform.

It looks great on paper but it's not really that muche.

I'd say it's likely to come true with the Xbox team's push towards unification of Windows 10 and Xbox One, but then again there was a that misprint for Sunset Overdrive coming to PC and here we are almost two years later with it still a Xbox One exclusive.

Am I right in thinking that this is really sloppy of a website like gamespot to just presume a game or two was announced and publish stuff about it?

I knew it was a mistake

Microsoft isn't going to throw the Xbone in the trash by putting their two biggest exclusives on PC. It just doesn't make sense.

Quantum Break is a more logical choice, honestly, because it's likely not a game that would sell systems like Gears 4 and Scalebound.

? We're talking about a game which is already finished and over a year old.
Of course Remedy needs the support. Their game is in development and it's a big AAA game + the whole actors/series thingy. They need the money and the resources/support.

Mmm... That does not make any sense to me.

Gears 4 could be a huge game for Xbox one , especially in US , but Scalebound? I don't think so.

Thought they already announced Gears 4 was headed to PC. Scalebound certainly is in the realm of possibility that it will arrive on PC as well.
